KeyFeaturesofthePOEGEM24T4SFPSNMPManagedSwitch
QoS: These switches offer pow erful Quali ty of Service (QoS) functions. QoS support is
important for realtime applications based on information taken from Layer 2 to
Layer4,suchas
VoIP.
STP: Theseswitchesoffer802.1D‐STP,802.1w‐RSTPand802.1s‐MSTPspanningtree
protocols.
VLAN: All switch models support Portbased VLAN and IEEE802.1Q Tagged VLAN, with
supportfor256activeVLANshavingVLANID’sfrom1to4094.TheVLANfeaturein
the switch offers the benefits of
both security and performance. VLAN is used to
isolate traffic between different users and thus provides better security. Limiting
the broadcast traffic to within the same VLAN broadcast domain also enhances
performance.
PortTrunking:Allows one or more links to be aggregated together to form a Link Aggregation
Group.Up
to12Gigabitportscanbesetuppertrunk,andaswitchcansupportup
to 12 trunking groups. Port trunks are useful for switchtoswitch cascading,
providing very high fullduplex connection speeds. Both static and LACP based
trunkingmethodsaresupported.
PortMirroring: Portmirroringcopies
trafficfromaspecificportto atargetport.Thismechanism
helps track network errors or abnormal packet transmission without interrupting
theflowofdata.
Bandwidth Both models support bandwidth allocation rating on a per
Control: port basis. Ingress and egress throughput can be limited to a preset

levelappropriatetothetrafficgenerallyhandledonaspecificport.
PortSecurity: Devicescanbeallowed/deniedaccessbasedonMACaddressonaperportbasis.
SNMP/RMON: SNMPisusedtoremotelymonitorandconfigureSNMPawaredevicesfroma
centralSNMPmanagementdevice,suchasSNMPsoftware.
RMON
istheabbreviationofRemoteNetworkMonitoringandisabranchofthe
SNMPMIB.
AllswitchmodelssupportMIB2(RFC1213),BridgeMIB(RFC1493),RMONMIB
