Before Using the
Product
Carrying the projector
When carrying the projector, hold it from the
bottom so that excess vibrations and impact
are not applied. Failure to do so could cause
scratches or damage the internal parts.
Do not carry the projector with the adjuster
legs ( P. 17) in an extended state. This
could damage the adjuster legs.
Installing the projector
Install the projector on a level and flat
location
Make sure the location is rigid and not wobbly.
Do not install the projector outdoor
This projector is for indoor use.
Do not install the projector at the following
locations
Locations that are not level: This could result
in incorrect operation and product damage.
Locations subjected to vibrations and impact,
such as vehicles, ships, etc.: This could cause
scratches or damage to the internal parts.
Locations subjected to direct sunlight, or near
heaters: This could result in deformation of the
main unit, or cause scratches or damage to
the internal parts.
Locations where there is a risk of salinity, and
locations where corrosive gases may occur:
This could result in product damage due to
corrosion. This may also affect the life of the
components, or damage the product.
Near the air conditioner vent: Depending on
the usage environment, “fluctuations” may
rarely occur on the screen as a result of the
heated air from the air outlet port, or hot or
cold air from the air conditioner.
Locations with severe temperature variations,
such as near lighting equipment (studio lamps,
etc.): This could affect the service life of the
lamp, or result in deformation or damage of
the main unit due to heat.
The operating temperature of the projector is

Handling the projector
To view clear images
To view clear images with a high contrast,
prepare a proper environment. To prevent
outside light or light from indoor lamps from
shining onto the screen surface, draw the
window curtains or blinds, and turn off the lights
close to the screen surface.
Do not touch the surface of the projector
lens with bare hands
If the projector lens surface becomes dirty from
fingerprints or anything else, it will be magnified
and projected onto the screen, thus preventing
you from viewing clear images.
Also, close the top cover when the projector is
not in use.
Lamp
A high-pressure mercury lamp with a high
internal pressure is used as the light source in
this projector.
The high-pressure mercury lamp has the
following features.
The lamp luminosity deteriorates with
continued use.
The lamp may emit a loud noise and burst
due to impact, scratches, or degradation
with continued use, and its life may become
exhausted.
The service life of the lamp may vary
significantly depending on individual
differences and usage conditions. Particularly,
continued use for 12 hours or more, and
frequent turning on and off of power may
hasten the degradation of the lamp and
significantly affect its service life.
Very rarely, the lamp may burst soon after the
projector starts working.
The possibility of lamp breakage increases as
the replacement period is exceeded. Replace
the lamp unit when it is time to replace.
(“Lamp unit replacement period” P. 36,
“Lamp unit replacement procedure” P. 36)
When the lamp bursts, the internal gas gushes
out and may look like fumes. Immediately
perform ventilation, and do not inhale the gas.
Connecting with external devices
Before connecting an external device, be sure
to thoroughly understand the contents of this
manual, including the use of the mains lead and
cables.
Focus adjustment
P. 25
Due to the heat of the light from the light source,
the projector lens does not have a stable focus
immediately after it is turned on. Panasonic
recommends adjusting the focus after at least
30 minutes have elapsed since projection of
images.
When using the projector below 1500 m
from the sea level, be sure to set the [High
Altitude mode] to [Off] (The default value is
[Off])
P. 29
Failure to do so could affect the life of the
components, or damage the product.
When using the projector above 1500 m
but below 2500 m from the sea level, be
sure to set the [High Altitude mode] to [On]
P. 29
Failure to do so could affect the life of the
components, or damage the product.
Do not install the projector at a location
that is 2500 m or higher from the sea level
Failure to do so could affect the life of the
components, or damage the product.
Installation precautions
Do not use the projector
sideways.
Do not cover the air inlet
port or air outlet port of the
projector. P. 15
During installation of the
projector, ensure that the
cold air or hot air from the air
conditioner does not come in direct contact
with the air inlet port or air outlet port of the
projector.
Do not install the projector in an enclosed
location.
When installing the projector in an enclosed
location, be sure to provide separate air
conditioning and ventilation equipment. In the

Security-related settings may not have been
made immediately after the purchase of a
wireless LAN device. In order to reduce the
possibility of occurrence of security problems, the
customer is requested to ensure that all security-
related settings have been made for the wireless
LAN devices, and the operation manual of each
wireless LAN device is followed.
Please note that due to the specifications of the
wireless LAN, security settings may be breached
by special methods.
Panasonic recommends the customer to properly
understand the problems that may occur if the
product is used without making security settings,
and to use the product after making security-
related settings based on the decision and
responsibility of the customer themselves.
Disposal
The lamp contains mercury. When discarding the
product and the removed old lamp unit, please
contact your local authorities or dealer and ask
for the correct method of disposal.
Security-related requests
The use of this product is likely to be
accompanied with the following dangers.
Leakage of private information of customers
using this product
Unauthorized operation of the product by a
malicious third party
Interference or stopping of operation of the
product by a malicious third party
Use the projector with a safe and secure network
by setting a firewall, etc.
Security-related cautions when using a
wireless LAN product
In the case of wireless LAN, information is
exchanged between the computer or a similar
device and wireless access points by using radio
waves rather than a LAN cable, and therefore,
there is an advantage that a LAN connection can
be freely established as long as radio waves can
reach the location.
On the other hand, if the radio waves are within
a certain range, they will reach all locations by
surpassing the obstacles (such as walls), and
therefore, if security-related settings have not
been made, the following problems may occur.
Communication contents may be stolen
A malicious third person may deliberately
intercept the radio waves, and may steal the
following communication contents.
Personal information such as ID, password,
credit card number, etc.
E-mail contents
There may be an unauthorized entry
A malicious third person may access a
personal or company’s network without
permission, and the following unauthorized
actions may be performed.
Extracting personal information and
confidential information (information
leakage)
Communicating under the pretext of some
particular person so that unauthorized
information can be let out (spoofing)
Rewriting and dispatching intercepted
communication contents (falsification)
Sending out a computer virus, etc. so as to
damage the data or system (destruction)
Essentially, a wireless LAN adapter and wireless
LAN access point are equipped with a security
mechanism to handle such problems, and
therefore, by making security-related settings
for a wireless LAN product, and then using the
product, the possibility of occurrence of problems

the adjuster legs (three locations), and install
the projector so that the projected image is
rectangular.
You can extend the adjuster legs by turning.
If the projected image has keystone distortion
even after adjusting the height, make fine
adjustments with the <KEYSTONE> buttons
on the remote control, or from [Keystone]

Connections
Before connections
Before connections, be sure to thoroughly read the manual of the external devices to be connected
to the projector.
Connect the cables after turning off the mains power to each device.
Do not increase the length of the cables unnecessarily. The longer the cable length, the more the
effect of noise. If you use the product with cables in the wound state, they will act as an antenna,
which would further increase the effect of noise.
