GENERALGENERAL
POWER ON/OFF BUTTON
Press the POWER button for less than 3 seconds to turn the unit on or off.
When the unit is turned on, the previous mode (last memory) will appear (CD or Radio Mode).

Using the Volume Up / Down Control, adjust the initial Volume Control to your desired setting.
Every time the Audio unit is turned on, the volume level will start at the initial volume level set.
(If the volume level is less than the initial volume level set, then the audio unit will remain at the lower level when turned on.
VOLUME UP / DOWN CONTROL (Audio Select Button)
Turn the Audio Select button right to increase the Volume level. The Level will be shown in “ VOLUME xx” on the display
panel. Turn it left to decrease the Volume level. The volume level is shown for 5 seconds until returning to the previous mode.

BASS TREBLE BAL FADER BEEP VOLUME
When this button is pressed, the LCD Display shows the selected function for 5
seconds before returning back to the previous mode. On the selected function, the

return to normal 5 seconds after the last adjustment has been made.
- (2) BASS CONTROL
To adjust the Bass level, first select the Bass mode by pressing the Select button until “BASS” appears on the display panel.
Within 5 seconds of choosing the Bass mode, turn the control left or right to adjust the bass level as desired. The bass level will
be shown on the display panel from a minimum of “BASS –10” to a maximum of “BASS+10”. The display will automatically
return to the normal 5 seconds after the last adjustment has been made.
- (3) TREBLE CONTROL
To adjust the Treble level, first select the Treble mode by pressing the Select button until ‘TREBLE” appears on the display
panel. Within 5 seconds of choosing the Treble mode, turn the control left or right to adjust the Treble level as desired.
The treble level will be shown on the display panel from a minimum of “TREBLE 10” to a maximum of “TREBLE 10”.
The display will automatically return to the normal 5 seconds after the last adjustment has been made.

To adjust the left-right speaker Balance, first select the Balance mode by pressing
the Select button until “BAL” appears on the display panel.

from “BAL 10L” (full left) to “BAL 10R” (full right). When the level between
the left and right speakers is equal, “BAL L=R” will be shown on the display panel.
The display will automatically return to normal 5 seconds after the last adjustment
has been made.

To adjust the front-rear speaker balance, first select the Fader mode by pressing the Select button until the “FADER” appears
on the display panel. Within 5 seconds of choosing the Fader mode, turn the control left or right to adjust the front-rear speaker
level as desired. The fader position will be shown on the display panel from “FADER 10F” (full front) to “FADER 10R”(full rear).
When the volume level between the front and rear speaker is equal, “FADER F=R” will be shown on the display panel. The display
will automatically return to the normal 5 seconds after the last adjustment has been made.
- (6) BEEP CONTROL
To adjust the Beep mode, first select the Beep mode by pressing the Sound button until “BEEP” indication appears on the

display panel. The Beep mode will be shown on the display panel from “BEEP 2ND”, “BEEP OFF”and “BEEP ON”.
The display will automatically return to the normal indication in 5 seconds after the last adjustment or when another function is
activated. Select “BEEP ON” when you wish to hear the “BEEP” sound whenever any function button is pressed.
Select “BEEP 2ND” when you wish to hear the “BEEP” sound whenever any Tuner Pre-set button and/or Tune Seek buttons
are pressed for more than 3 seconds.

Press the button again to de-activate the mute feature. (Changing stations, Adjusting the Volume or selecting CD functions
will also de-activate the mute feature)
LOUDNESS CONTROL (LOUD)
Whilst listening to music at low volume levels, this feature will boost the bass and treble response.
This action will compensate for the reduction in bass and treble performance experienced at low volume.
Press the Loud button to activate this feature. “LOUD” will be indicated on the display panel. Pressing the button
again will de-activate the function and “LOUD” will disappear from the display panel.

ANTI-THEFT-DETERRENT LED
This LED indicator flashes once a second when the vehicles Accessories
is turned OFF.

ANTI-THEFT SECURITY PIN CODE INPUT
You will only be required to enter the security code pin if power has
been disconnected from the audio unit. (Flat or disconnected Battery)
Once power is reconnected to the Audio Unit / vehicle, the display on
the Audio Unit will illuminate and show “1CDE” (Even with the
Accessories OFF)
This indicates you are required to enter your Security Pin Number.
1. Your Security Pin Number can be found on your Security Code Card, which can be found with your Operation Manual for
the Audio Unit.
2. Every Audio Unit has its own individual anti-theft Security Pin Code and you have 3 attempts to enter the correct pin.
3. An example pin code may be 3212.
4. To enter pin code 3212, please refer to the steps below.
a. Press Pre-set button number one (1), three (3) times. (3 will appear on the Display) – 1CDE 3
b. Press Pre-set button number two (2), two (2) times. (2 will appear on the Display) – 1CDE 32
c. Press Pre-set button number three (3), one (1) time. (1 will appear on the Display) – 1CDE 321

e. Check that the pin code shown on your stereo screen is “3212”.
f. Now press Pre-set button number five (5) to enter the Pin Code.
5. Providing the correct Pin number is entered, the audio unit will turn on and the FM frequency will be displayed (If ACC is ON).
If the ACC is OFF, the Display will turn OFF as soon as the Correct Pin code is entered. Once the ACC is turned ON, the
Audio Unit will turn ON.
6. If an incorrect Security Pin Number is entered 3 times, the unit will be required to be reset. (Display remains illuminated until
the Audio Unit is reset)

AM/FM BAND SELECTOR (AM/FM)
This button is used to select between FM and AM.
Each time this button is pressed, LCD displays each band as follows:

UP/DOWN TUNING ( , )
To automatically select a radio station, momentarily press the UP TUNE SEEK button ( ) or DOWN TUNE SEEK
button ( ) for less than 3 seconds to search for the closest radio station.
To manually select a radio station in either (FM=50KHz, AM=9KHz), press and hold the UP or Down Tuning button
for more than 3 seconds. Now the radio frequency will move up or down in 50KHz Steps (FM) or 9KHz Steps (AM).

Press BSM button momentarily to scan through the 6 pre-set stations stored in memory.

- (2) BEST STATION MEMORY (BSM)
Press and hold the BSM button for more than 2 seconds. This will activate the BSM tuning feature.
This feature automatically scans and stores 6 pre-set stations into memory according to signal strength / reception strength.
If you have already stored stations in memory, activating the BSM tuning feature will erase these stations and replace them with
the new ones.
This BSM feature is most useful when traveling in a new area where you are not familiar with the local stations.

a. Turn the radio on and select the desired band.
b. Select the first station to be pre-set using the Manual UP/DOWN or
Automatic Seek Tuning Control .
c. Press the chosen Pre-set button to store your selected station into and
continue to hold it in. You will then hear a beep which indicates the station
is now stored in Memory. The Pre-set number will also be displayed.
The Station can be recalled at any time by simply pressing the Preset Button.
Note: Store up to 18 FM and 6 AM Stations in Memory.

- (2) CUE/REVIEW FUNCTIONS (Fast Forward / Reverse)
High-speed fast forward / reverse of any track on a disc can be made by pressing and
holding these buttons down.
Press and hold the Up Button ( ) to fast forward a track or press and hold the Down
Button ( ) to advance rapidly in the reverse direction.

RANDOM PLAY SELECTOR (RDM)
Whilst a CD is playing, press the RDM button to play the tracks on the CD in
a random (shuffled) order (“RDM” will appear on the LCD panel).
Whilst in Random Mode, the Track select function will also select tracks in a
Random order.
The Random Play mode can be cancelled at any time by pressing the RDM button
again. It can also be cancelled by pressing the Intro or Repeat Play Buttons.
TRACK SCAN (INT)
Whilst a CD is playing, press the INT button to play the first 10 seconds of each track on the CD (“INT” will appear on the
LCD panel).
When a desired track is reached, press the INT button again to cancel the Into function and resume play on the desired Track.
Intro Mode can also be cancelled by pressing the Random Play , Track up/down or Repeat Play buttons.

loading mechanism engages. The disc will automatically start playing once inserted.
Note : This unit is designed for play of standard 5” (12cm) compact disc ONLY.
Do not attempt to use 3” (8cm) CD-single discs in this unit,
either with or without an adapter, as damage to the player and/or
disc can occur. Such damage will not be covered by the warranty
on this product.
DISC EJECT( )
By pressing the EJECT button , the disc will eject and the unit will return to the previous mode. (AM/FM Band)
If the disc is not removed within 10 seconds from pressing the EJECT button, it will automatically re-insert.
If the Disc re-inserts, to resume play of the CD, you must press the CD selector button. This selects CD Mode.

Fingerprints, dust and dirt should be carefully wiped off the disc's playing surface (shiny side) with a soft cloth. Wipe
in a straight motion from the inside to the outside of the disc.
Never use chemicals such as record sprays, household cleaners or thinner to clean compact discs. Chemicals can
damage the disc's surface.
Discs should always be kept in their storage cases when not in use.
Do not expose discs to direct sunlight, high temperatures or high humidity for extended periods.
Do not stick paper, tape, or labels on the disc surfaces nor write on them with any type of marker. This will cause the Disc
to be jammed inside the unit. This is not covered under Warranty.
2) Non-standard shapes Discs (e.g.: heart, square, star) cannot be played on this unit. Attempting to do so may
damage the unit. Do not use such discs.

Your KIA CD Player is guaranteed against defective parts and workmanship for a period of three years from the date
of vehicle Registration or 100,000kms.

In the event your CD Player is faulty, please contact your KIA Dealership to arrange an inspection of your CD Player.
If proven defective, your KIA dealer will implement a change over product service to replace your faulty CD Player.
This product guarantee does not cover damage to your CD Player (with CD and TUNER) if it has been subjected to
misuse or abuse.
This guarantee does not cover damaged caused by using Discs with stick on labels or faulty / damaged discs.
