Setup Steps

1. Turn off your computer and all connected peripherals.

2. Disconnect your computer from all power sources.

3. Open the computer’s case. Refer to your computer’s User Manual for

more details.

4. Find an available PCI Express Slot and remove the slot bracket. Save the

bracket screw for later use. (A)

5. Align the card with the PCI Express Slot and insert it into the slot

ﬁrmly and evenly. Be careful not to force it into the slot. Once you have

properly positioned the card into the slot, fasten it to the computer case with

the bracket screw. (B)

6. Replace the computer case and switch on your computer.

For Mac Users: The LaCie FireWire 800 PCI Express Card is plug & play and does

not require driver installation.

For PC Users: There are no drivers to install for Windows XP, Windows Vista, and

Windows 7. The LaCie FireWire 800 PCI Express Card has the drivers built into the

BIOS for these operating systems.
