I. Introduction and features
BARCO's multi-functional flight case is a specially designed transit case for temporary installations of a
BARCODATA 5000 projector. Thanks to the advanced mechanical design of this flight case and the
built-in projection mirror, it is possible to install the projector in either a horizontal or vertical position - in
ceiling mount or table configuration - without removing the projector out of the flight case.
Features:
- Heavy duty black cover with aluminium corners and profiles for maximum protection and easy
stackability.
- Solid handles and wheels on two sides assure maximum transportability.
- Can be installed in horizontal as well as vertical position.
- Can be used as single, dual or triple projector configurations.

- Built-in mirror for vertical projection in ceiling mount as well as table configurations.
The mirror can only be used with BARCO small lenses, such as HD(2.2:1), HD(3.3:1), HD(3.9:1) or
HD(5:1).
- Extremely fast and easy setup of the projector, both in single and multiple projector configurations.
- Integral cooling system for harsh environmental conditions.
Turn the top cover locking screws a quarter
of a turn counter clockwise to unlock the top
cover and lift up the top cover to open.
Rotate the top cover and lay it down gently on
the back top cover.

II.a. Opening the front top cover.

II.b. Mounting the power cables for the flight case fans.
Seal on right side, inside the projector one cable clip and
seal on the outside of the projector two cable clips (see
picture).
Disconnect on both sides the power cables for
the fans (the position is indicated with an arrow).
Connect the delivered new power cable to the
just opened connectors. Conduct the cable
through the cable clip or clips, sealed inside the
projector.

Opening in cabinet.
Push the cable through the opening in the upper
corner and conduct the cable through the out-
side cable clip.
Close the front top cover and secure the locking
screws by turning a quarter clockwise.
II.c. Feet removal.
Turn the projector upside down. Turn
out the 3 supporting feet by turning
counter clockwise.
III. Assembly
III.a. Opening the multi functional flight case.
Place the handle right up and turn 180° counter clockwise.
Lift up the handle. The flight case cover is detachable.
Take off the flight case cover.

III.b. Supporting bars
Remove both bars by turning out the four bolts
(M10) (indicated with an arrow).
Remove the 3 loose bolts by removing the nuts
(M8) (indicated with a hand).
Mount the supporting bars on the projector base
plate by turning in the 3 previously removed
bolts.
The bar A must be mounted on the front side
(where the two feet were mounted).
Mount the second bar B on the backside (where
the one food was mounted).
Be sure, the bar B is mounted in parallel with the
bar A.

Mirror support bar
III.c. Mirror support bar.
For easy projector mounting, remove the mirror
support bar of the multi functional flight case by
turning out the four bolts (M8).
III.d. Projector mounting
Insert the projector assembly in the flight case carefully by
lining up the holes in the support bars with these in flight
case.
Secure this position with the four bolts. The nuts can be
moved to their correct position by moving the nut handle
until the bolt fits into the nut.
Connect both fan supply cables.
Re-mount the mirror support bar.

Foam rubber
The mirror is stored in a foam rubber in the
bottom of the flight case. Lift up the cover and
take out the mirror.
III.e. Mirror mounting
Centering pin
Mounting stud
Mount the mirror yoke on the mirror support bar
by lining up the hole in the yoke with the
centering pin on the bar and turn the yoke until
the notch fits under the mounting stud. Secure
the position by fastening the mounting stud.

IV. Projection possibilities.
The mirror can be rotated in its bracket. Two mirror
positions are possible, both positions are illustrated in
next drawings.
The flight case can be mounted in a stable position by
using the wheel locking. Push on the front side to lock
the wheel.
Wheel locking
Dual projection is possible when
two flight cases are stacked on
each other and the adjustable
lensholder is build in in the lower
projector. To stack the flight case,
be sure the centering pins next to
the wheels slide into the centering
holes of the other flight case frame.
