2.1 Purpose of this Document
This User’s Manual and Help System is provided to enable users to quickly master the operation and the
configuration of the ControlSwitch administration functions.

4.1 Modifying the EMS Login Password
To modify your login password:
1. Select Administration Change Password.
2. Click on the Configuration button.
3. Enter the parameters, as depicted below.
Current Password. Enter your current password.
New Password. Enter your new password.
Re-enter Password. Re-enter your new password for confirmation.
4. Click OK to save the entered values.

This window allows the users to manage the other EMS users, and set parameters such as, passwords,
and privileges using the Actions buttons.
The following table details the users' parameters

User
The user name for logging into the system.
Status
The current status of the user. Possible values: Active, Inactive.
First Name
The user's first name.
Last Name
The user's last name.
User Type
The user's type (privilege level). Possible values: Administrator, Standard, Viewer.
Password Expiry Date
Indicates the expiration date of the user's password.

Creating a User 5.1.1
To create a new user:

1. Select Administration User Maintenance.
2. Click on the Create button.
3. Enter the parameters, as depicted below.
User. Username used to login into the system.
First Name. User's first name.
Last Name. User's last name.
Password. User's password.
Re-enter Password. User's password for confirmation.
User Privilege Level. The user's privilege level. Possible values: Administrator, Standard,
Viewer.
User Status. The current status of the user. Possible values: Active, Inactive.
Password Life time. Indicates how many days are left for the user to change his/her
password. When this value expires, the old password is not relevant anymore.
Applicable for users with administrator access rights.
4. Click OK to save the entered values.

To modify users parameters:
1. Select Administration User Maintenance.
2. Select the user you want to modify.
3. Click on the Modify button.
4. Enter the parameters you want to modify, as depicted in the figure below.

Last Name. User's last name.
Password. User's password.
Re-enter Password. User's password for confirmation.
User Privilege Level. The user's privilege level. Possible values: Administrator, Standard,

Deleting a User 5.1.3
To delete an existing user:
1. Select Administration User Maintenance.
2. Select the user you want to delete.
3. Click on the Delete button.
4. Click Yes in the Delete Confirmation window.
5. Click on the Refresh button to remove the deleted item from the list.

To Refresh the user list:
1. Click on the Refresh button.

1. Select Administration User Maintenance.
2. Click on the Filter button.
3. Enter the criteria parameters for the filtering operation, as depicted below.
User. Username used to login into the system.
User Status. The status of the user.
First Name. User's first name.
Last Name. User's last name.
4. Click OK to save the entered values. The list of the filtered items shall be displayed in the
window.
Associatiating Roles to Users 5.1.6
To associate roles to a user:
1. Select Administration User Maintenance.
2. Select a user (in the upper window).
3. Click on the Associate button (in the lower window).
4. The following window opens.

5. Select role from Items to select column, and press the Add icon to add it to the Selected Item
column. Click on the Add All button to associate all the elements.
6. Press OK to confirm the operation.
To disassociate roles:
1. In the Selected Items column, select a role and click on the Remove button.
2. Press on the Remove All button to remove all the elements.
3. Press OK to confirm the operation.

The Application Parameters window allows users to enable/disable specific features in the system, and
to set parameters related to these features.

7.1 Modifying Application Parameter Value
To modify an application parameter:
1. Select Administration Application Parameters.
2. Select a parameter you want to modify.
3. Double-click on it or click on the Modify button.
4. Enter the parameter you want to modify.
5. Click OK to save the entered values.

Example: Setting QoS Option
7.1.1
To set the QoS option:
1. Select Administration Application Parameters.
2. Select QoS Option.
3. Double-click on it or click on the Modify button.
4. Set the "Value" to "ON". If set to OFF, SEE will not send a QoS Event Request to PE after
getting a Routing Response, and the DCA will not send peg metric to the PE, thus QoS
enforcement will not operate. However, DCA still generates statistical reports to DAS.
5. Click OK to save the entered value.
7.2 Refreshing the Parameters List
To Refresh the parameters list:
1. Click on the Refresh button.
7.3 Filtering an Application
To filter an application:
1. Select Administration Application Parameters.
2. Click on the Filter button.
3. Enter the criteria parameters for the filtering operation.
4. Click OK to save the entered values. The list of the filtered items shall be displayed in the
window.

Databases 8.
The CS elements EMS, CDR, and DSE use databases to keep their data. These databases should be
configured prior using these elements, to allow the applications access, and proper operation.
The Databases window allows users to manage the system databases.
The following table details the displayed database parameters

8.1 Creating a Database
To create a database:
1. Select Administration Databases.
2. Click on the Create button.
3. Enter the parameters, as depicted below.
