COM PLI ANCE:Prior to next flight.
IN TRO DUC TION: There has been a re port of an out board fuel quan tity float be ing cap tured by the fuel cap
re tain ing lan yard fol low ing a fuel tank fill- up. Dur ing the pro cess of put ting the cap in place, the lan yard be -
came twisted in a po si tion that when the out board float low ered with the fuel level, it be came cap tured by the
lan yard loop and would not con tinue to fol low the fuel level down ward. If this situa tion oc cu rs, the in di ca tion of
the fuel gauge will show at least one- half tank of fuel re main ing in the tank when the tank is e mpty.
To re move the pos si bil ity of this situa tion oc cur ring in the fuel tank con figu ra tion of t he af fected air craft, the in -
spec tion and pro ce dures con tained in this SB must be com plied with im me di ately.
IN STRUC TIONS:
1.Open filler cap on each wing tank and in spect to see that the lan yard (ny lon type ma te rial) is at -
tached to the filler cap and to the wing filler cap adapter.
2.If the lan yard is at tached, the lan yard must be re moved from the filler cap as sem bly/ wing ad apter
as sem bly.
3.Pull filler cap as sem bly up and away from tank open ing and clip a slot in the end at tached to t he
wing adapter as sem bly. Pull the lan yard from this at tach ment point.
4. Clip a slot in the end at tached to the filler cap as sem bly and pull lan yard from filler cap as sem bly.
5.Re place filler cap as sem bly into the fuel tank adapter and close latch lever. Both LH & RH tanks
must have these in struc tions ac com plished.
6.Re turn air craft to serv ice. En ter com pli ance note into log book.
WAR RANTY: Moo ney Air craft Cor po ra tion will al low up to 0.5 hours la bor for the in spec tion and
com pli-ance with the in struc tions of this SB, if com pli ance pa per work is re ceived within 90 days
of the date of this SB.
