WRAPPING MODES
Auto Film This mode is automatically selected when the wrapper is turned on or when the STOP switch
is pressed. Narrow or Wide film is automatically selected depending on package size.
Narrow Film Wraps packages with Narrow film only.
Wide Film Wraps packages with Wide film only.
CONTROL SETTINGS
Film Tension Leave at 7 for snugly wrapped packages. To loosen the wrap, set at a lower number.
Packages with sharp bones or bulges will wrap better with a slightly looser wrap (lower
number).
Sealer Belt Set at 325° F. Allow to warm up 10-15 minutes. Adjust lower if holes develop on package
Thermostat bottom. Adjust higher if film doesn’t seal.
PACKAGE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum height is 1/2"; item must be in a tray. Trays must have at least a 1/2" angled lip.
Maximum height varies from 3 to 5 inches depending on package size — see charts.
Maximum package width is 1014" or 15" long.

NOTE: On earlier machines that have not been modified with the 7/25 Kit, 7S and 25S trays cannot be wrapped.

USE THE CORRECT TRAY SIZE
Caution:
1. Loose items could fall out of the tray and jam the machine.
2. Use deep trays for loose parts that might roll off.
3. Product must be stable and lay flat in the tray without bouncing around.
4. Lay sharp bones down on the bottom of the tray so the film doesn’t puncture.

PACKAGE PLACEMENT
Place package on the intake pan so it is:
Centered left to right.
Centered front to back.
Has long side parallel to control panel.
On the package intake sensor.
AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWNS
Displayed:
MACHINE IDLE Preset number of idle cycles has been completed — Press START to resume.
PACKAGE TOO LONG Package is over maximum of 101/4" long — remove and hand wrap.
NO FILM PULLED Allow machine to run through idle cycles until it stops. Check:
Film roll depleted. Check both rolls; replace roll that is depleted.
Film not properly positioned in film guide.
Clean film selector rubber rollers.
Clean film gripper and side clamp rubber pads.
Film not threaded properly. Rethread film.

WHERE TO CLEAN
Clean these parts thoroughly (remove residue of fat or wax) to prevent film from slipping during wrapping.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
WARNING: OPEN FRONT ACCESS DOOR AND TURN OFF MAIN ELECTRICAL SWITCH BEFORE
PERFORMING TROUBLESHOOTING CHECKS.
MACHINE IS OFF - POWER ON LIGHT IS OFF
Check: Main electrical switch behind access door.
Store circuit protector.
Electrical power supply (circuit breaker panel).
Power cord plugged in.
MACHINE IS OFF - POWER ON LIGHT IS ON
Displayed:
EEP MEMORY ERROR Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
RAM MEMORY ERROR Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
LOOSE CONNECTOR Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
CALL FOR SERVICE Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
ROM CHECK SUM ERR Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
COVER OPEN Close applicable cover.
PACKAGE TOO TALL Remove package and hand wrap.
PACKAGE JAM Jam near sealer belt. Turn hand wheel to relieve pressure on package if
necessary.
ELEV COLLAPSED Elevator is collapsed. Lift back into place.
PULL STOP SWITCH Pull to release. Press START to resume.
COVER WAS OPEN Applicable cover was open but has been replaced. Pull STOP switch, then press
START. If the same cover is displayed several times, check to ensure cover is in the
proper position.

MACHINE RUNS BUT SHUTS DOWN
Displayed:

PACKAGE TOO LONG Package is over maximum of 101/4" long. Remove and hand wrap.

• Film roll depleted. Check both rolls; replace roll that is depleted.

MOTOR BACKWARDS Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
PADDLE HOME ERR Contact your local Hobart Service Office.
PADDLE NOT HOME Remove package. Press START. If machine starts and stops again with same error
message, press START again. Repeat 5 times if necessary. If problem persists,
contact your local Hobart Service Office.
PKG INTAKE JAM Clean package intake sensor.
PKG LENGTH JAM Clean package length sensor.
PKG WIDTH JAM Clean wide package arms.
STALL DETECTED Check motor circuit breaker. Check power line and circuit breaker. If problem
persists, contact your local Hobart Service Office.
PLEASE WAIT Intake pusher is returned to HOME position - DO NOT place a package on the intake
pan until message clears.
REMOVE PACKAGE Machine is not in position to accept package. Remove package. Press START and
allow machine to run 5 cycles before placing a package on the package intake
sensor. If problem persists, contact your local Hobart Service Office.
UNABLE TO HOME Contact your local Hobart Service Office.

FILM WIDTH CANNOT BE CHANGED
Displayed:
GRIPPER FORWARD Allow machine to run through idle cycles until it stops, then push SELECT to change
film width.
OPEN-END PACKAGES
Check: Wide package wrapped with machine in NARROW FILM mode.
Film roll not centered on film shaft.
Clean side clamp rubber pads.
Package not centered on intake conveyor pan.
Bottom of tray too slick or wet, preventing film from sticking.
WIDE FILM mode may be required on odd-shaped packages.
Room temperature below 45° F and using a thin gauge film.
Room being cleaned with hot water, causing damp film.
Improper film. Use only proper stretch film (may require consultation).
FILM HOLES IN BOTTOM OF PACKAGE
Check: Sealer belt thermostat may be set too high.
Elevator or side underfolders may need to be cleaned.
Clean film gripper pads and/or side clamp rubber pads.
Film too thin or too tacky.
Damaged or defective film caused by improper storage, improper handling, or excessive age.
Room temperature below 45° F and using a thin gauge film.
Improper film. Use only proper stretch film (may require consultation).
Sealer belt is damaged.

FILM HOLES ON TOP OF PACKAGE
Check: Film tension is set too high for products with sharp bones. Reduce tension setting.
Damaged or defective film caused by improper storage, improper handling, or excessive age.
Improper film. Use only proper stretch film (may require consultation).
PACKAGE WRAPPED TOO LOOSELY
Check: Film tension set too low. Use 7 for normal snug wrapping.
Clean film gripper pads and/or side clamp rubber pads.
Improper film. Use only proper stretch film (may require consultation).
TAILS ON FILM
Check: Foreign material in knife channel. Clear channel using a small wooden stick such as a popsicle
stick.
Film wrapped around rear underfolder rollers.
Clean film gripper pads.
PACKAGES FLIPPING OVER OR DAMAGED
Check: Clean intake conveyor pan.
Film supply rolls not secure on the shaft.
Foreign material in knife channel. Clear channel using a small wooden stick such as a popsicle
stick.
