17 VALVE HEAT SHIELD
REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS
This heat shield is for replacement on 17 valve models.
To install, follow the steps below:
1. Remove the old/existing valve heat shield (from the
valve).
Note: DO NOT remove the existing regulator heat shield
(if equipped).
2. Cover the valve with the heat shield as shown in
Fig.1-1 and Fig.1-2.
Refer to the owner's manual supplied with your burner/
valve system for all other product details.

(shown on G45 burner)
HEAT SHIELD
MUST BE
PROPERLY
PLACED
TO PREVENT VALVE DAMAGE AND FAILURE:
IT IS CRITICAL THAT THE HEAT SHIELD BE
PLACED CORRECTLY OVER THE VALVE PRIOR TO
OPERATION.
KEEP LAVA GRANULES/COALS, SAND/
VERMICULITE, EMBERS/GLASS, AND ALL FOREIGN
OBJECTS AWAY FROM THE PILOT ASSEMBLY,
VALVE ASSEMBLY, AND HEAT SHIELD DURING
MEDIA PLACEMENT AND AT ALL TIMES.
