Using the Beyerdynamic Classis RM30 with Phoenix Stingray
The Classis RM 30 is a desktop microphone for round table discussions, podiums,
tele/video conferencing and lecterns. The vertical microphone array results in a hor-
izontal corridor characteristic (horizontal cardioid, vertical lobe).

1) The microphone should be connected to the XLR to Terminal Block Converter (MT720) which is
then connected to the “microphone input” port of the Stingray.
Setting the Stingray
The Stingray’s mixer should be assigned to the mic input. The setting can be selected either via the
device front panel or through the Stingray’s setup GUI.
XLR to Terminal Block Converter (MT720)
Stingray Front Panel :
1) From the front panel enter into the menu
2) Scroll down to the second menu item which is the “automatic mixer selection”.
3) Select it, and in it select “mix microphone input”.
Stingray GUI:
1) Select the primary unit and then click on “edit primary parameters”.

2) In the next screen you should select MIC MIXER.
3) Select the Microphone button to adjust microphone sensitivity. You can also view the micro-
phone levels from this screen.

Beyerdynamic Classis RM30 - Tested Congurations
1) Table Top - Lectern Microphone
Challenges
The Classis RM30 microphone requires 48V Phantom Power, only supported through
the microphone level connections on the Stingray. Voice lift is not supported on Micro-
phone Level.
Solution
If Voice Lift is required, use a 48V Phantom Power adapter to connect to Line Level
input. Beyerdynamics recommends the Whirlwind MICPOWER 4.
