Audiophile turntable with unique dual-plinth construction
The music hall mmf-3.3 series turntables are 2-speed belt-driven audiophile turntables employing
the unique dual-plinth construction originated by music hall. The distinctive design isolates the
critical sound reproducing components from the motor and the base-chassis, so motor vibrations do
not reach the cartridge and resonances from the ground and the base chassis are damped
effectively.
Platter, main bearing, tonearm, and cartridge are mounted on the top platform and the motor,
switch, wiring, and feet are mounted on the bottom platform. Viso-elastic cones separate the two
platforms and provide additional vibration damping.
The mmf-3.3 series comes complete with an 8,6” carbon fiber tonearm with an aluminum headshell
fitted with an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
This is the first time Music Hall is able to offer the split-plinth technology for less than 1000€/USD.
Usually, in this pricerange you’ll only find a simple construction without motor or turntable base
isolation.
