HOW TO INSTALL
NOTE!
Recommendation! Before installing the Öhlins
shock absorber:
• clean the vehicle thoroughly
11
Install the Öhlins shock absorber. The reservoir
should be at the top and towards the rear. Lead
the hydraulic preload adjuster to the right side
of the vehicle, temporarily leave it hanging. At-
tach the upper and lower attachments and the
triangle link, but do not tighten yet.
Use the M10x60 screw provided in this kit to
the lower attachment.
NOTE!
Lower the motorcycle so that the shock
absorber is sligthly compressed, before tighten-
ing the screws.
12
Tighten the screws of the upper and lower at-
tachment and the triangle link.
13
Use the 8x60 screw and the washer provided
in this kit to attach the hydraulic preload
adjuster. Attach the hydraulic preload adjuster
and the bracket to the silencer bracket as
indicated in the fi gure.
Make sure that all screws are tightened to the
correct torque and that nothing fouls or restricts
movement of the shock absorber when the sus-
pension is fully compressed or extended.
WARNING!
It is advisable to have an Öhlins dealer install
the shock absorber. Consult your vehicle serv-
ice manual when installing this product.
WARNING!
Make sure that the hydraulic preload adjuster
hose runs in soft bends. Also check that it does
not come in contact with the exhaust pipe or any
sharp edges.
