Warning, the camshaft bolt used to secure the cam phaser to the camshaft is a torque-to-
yield style bolt and CANNOT be reused. Damage to the cam and cam phaser can be
caused by a lack of proper torque if the factory cam bolt is reused and/or proper tightening
procedures are not followed.
Ford part number for replacement camshaft phaser bolt = 3L3Z-6279-DA
Ford factory procedure for properly tightening the cam phaser bolt
Tighten the camshaft phaser bolt in 2 stages:
Stage 1: Tighten bolt to 30 lb.-ft.
Stage 2: Tighten bolt an additional 90 degrees
