SAFETY INFORMATION

• Read all installation instructions before beginning; if not qualiﬁed, do not

attempt installation. Contact a qualiﬁed electrician.

• To reduce the risk of ﬁre, electric shock, or injury to persons, pay close

attention to this manual and stay within its guidelines when using this

product. Save these instructions for future use.

• Do not cover this product with paper surface coverings, fabrics,

streamers, or other similar combustible materials.

• Do not operate Trulux on the reel, nor while it is coiled.

• This IP68 rated tape light is suitable for outdoor use in wet locations. Not

intended to be submerged at depths greater than 1 meter.

• Not suitable for exposure to chemicals such as chlorine or bromine.

• Seal any cut end with IP68 end cap and silicone or polyurethane sealant

(sold separately).

• Do not route the cord or tape light through walls, ceilings, doors,

windows, or any similar part of the building structure.

• Secure tape light using mounting clips provided with the tape

and/or factory recommended mounting clips, mounting track, and

aluminum channel (sold separately).

• Do not secure this product or its cord with staples, nails, or like means

that may damage the outer jacket or cord insulation.

• Do not use if there is any damage to the tape light, diodes or power cord

insulation; inspect periodically.

• Do not install on gates or doors, or where subject to continuous ﬂexing.

• Do not install in airtight tanks or enclosures of any kind.

• Size your 12V AC transformer (not included) appropriately for your run

distance. Be sure not to load a power supply to 100% as this will reduce

its eciency; a 90% maximum load is recommended.

These products may represent a possible shock or ﬁre

hazard if improperly installed or attached in any way.

Products should be installed in accordance with these

instructions, current electrical codes, and/or the current

National Electric Code (NEC).

Use only with 12V AC transformer with a wattage capacity

that can handle the total load. Factory warranty will be

void if used with a non-recommended power supply,

transformer or driver.

To reduce the risk of ﬁre, electric shock or injury to

persons, make sure that the electrical power to the

system is disconnected at the source prior to installation

or any servicing.

Never fold Trulux® or bend past the minimum bending

radius of 1” whether lighted or unlighted.

WARNING

LAYOUT CONSIDERATIONS

Pay close attention to the following maximum run lengths:

Each reel includes (1) attached 1ft IP68 female lead, (1) attached 1ft male IP68 tail, and (2) 6ft connector cables (IP68 connector

to bare leads). See Figure 1. Each reel may be cut only once; be sure to seal the cut ends with appropriate IP68 end cap and

silicone or polyurethane sealant to preclude the entrance of water. The piece cut o can be sealed and used.

INSTALLING AND WIRING:

1. Disconnect power at source before installing STL68 tape light.

2. Consider distance to transformer location from tape light installation.

3. Locate the transformer in a protected dry location. Using included 6ft IP68 connector cable bring 12V AC power from the

transformer to the attached IP68 power feed.

4. Connect bare leads of connector cable to 12V AC transformer per transformer instructions.

CUTTING AND SEALING:

NOTE: Cut increments are every 19.68”. Failure to cut on cut increment marks will result in dead tape.

1. Disconnect power before making any cuts.

2. Using marked cut increments for reference cut tape with utility knife. See Figure 2.

3. Fill end cap with silicone or polyurethane sealant (sold separately).

4. Insert cut end of tape into the end cap and wipe away any excess sealant.

5. Allow sealant to dry before exposing to water.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY MEASURES

1. Route and secure cords so that they will not be pinched or damaged in any way.

2. LEDs are bright. Do not look directly at lighted tape light.

Important Note: The National Electrical Code (NEC) does not permit cords to be concealed where damage to insulation may go

unnoticed. To prevent ﬁre danger, do not run cord behind walls, ceilings, sots, or cabinets where it may be inaccessible for

examination. Cords should be visually examined periodically and immediately replaced when damage is noted.
