MOES BE09-220509 is a ZigBee 3.0 human presence sensor capable of detecting the presence, static state, micro-motion, and motion of people within a range of 2-12 meters. It features adjustable detection distance, sensitivity, and delay time to optimize performance based on the installation environment. It can output sensing results wirelessly (WiFi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, 4G) or wired (RS485, RS232, dry contact, wet contact) for integration with smart home, hotel, office, elevator, and security systems.

Common problems and precautions

Detect someone when no one there: it is recommend-

ed to set the detection distance short, high and low

sensitivity to investigate the cause and ﬁnd the

interferences in the environment. Avoid the

interference by limiting the farthest detection distance

and installation method.

Cannot detect when humman present: people need to

be in the eﬀective detection area; if sitting still, they

need the body parts with relative movement (such as

breathing movement) to be inclined or facing the

equipment and then be detected.

It is suggested that the target disappearance

conﬁrmation time (delay time) should not be too small.

The default time is 15 seconds. If it is smaller, the

target may disappear with a certain probability due to

accidental respiratory pause, resulting in missing

report.

In the scenes with low and narrow installation height,

such as bathroom, washing room and kitchen, it is

recommended to set the detection distance smaller

than the installation height and have high and low

sensitivity.

RECYCLING INFORMATION

All products marked with the symbol for separate collection of

waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE Directive 2012/19

/ EU) must be disposed of separately from unsorted municipal

waste. To protect your health and the environment, this equipment

Select a suitable installation position on the ceiling

according to the range and shape of the area to be

tested to ensure that the detection area can be

eﬀectively covered.

The diameter of the equipment panel is 93mm, the

rear rectangular part is 65x70mm, and a circular hole

with a diameter of 80mm can be opened on the

coiling.

Clamp the power and signal wires on the equipment

(clamp the wires gently, otherwise the wires are easy

to be clamped oﬀ and introduced inlo the ceiling

opening).

Clip the equipment into the ceiling hole to complete

the installation.

Delay time: the delay time has two parameters:

The parameter conﬁgures the conﬁrmation time after

“largel delecled”. Conﬁguring the best parameter

value can greatly reduce the false alarm rate. Although

the larger the value is, the more reliable it is, when the

real target appears, the equipment needs a longer

time to report that the target has been detected.

The parameter conﬁgures the conﬁrmation time after

the “targel disappears” (the delay time generally

understood by the user). The larger the conﬁgured

parameter value, the easier it is to reduce the false

alarm rate caused by the accidental disappearance of

the target. Although the larger the value, the more

reliable it is, after the target really disappears, the

equipment needs a longer lime to report that the

target has disappeared.

Use instruction

Detection distance: up to 9.5 m, default to 6 m. If the

detection distance is too far, unnecessary target

interference is easy to occur in the scane with low

installation height and narrow installation height

(secondary multiple reﬂection, L-shaped right angle

reﬂection and other eﬀects lead to the detection of

targets that do not need to be detected or aﬀect

parameter indicators);

Sensitivity: any number from 0 to 9 can be set. 9

represents the highest sensitivity and O represents the

lowest. The default sensitivity is 7. The smaller the

sensitivity, the greater the target micro motion or

breathing amplitude and the closer the distance can

be detected. The greater the sensitivity, if there are

weaker and wider range of interferents, it is easier to

make false alarm.

In order to better adapt the equipment to the scene and

environment and realize the best detection function and

performance index simultaneously, the three main

parameters of “detection distance”, “sensitivity” and

“delay time" can be adjusted:

Long press the button until blue indicator light ﬂash

quickly, then sensor enter network conﬁguration state.

When network conﬁguration, make sure the device as

close as possible to the Gateway.

Open My Home Page in TuyaSmart App, click to enter

the added gatedway, select to add sub-device. Then

follow the operation according to the App hint.

If network conﬁguration fail, repeat to long press the

device button until blue light ﬂash quickly. Repeat

above operation.

Device detection area:

Important hint: the detectable distance is related to

many factors such as installation environment, human

volume, relative angle and micro motion / movement

speed. The above parameters are only the test results of

our testers for reference only. In diﬀerent environment,

the user shall be subject to the actual measurement.

Product introduction

The human presence sensor has the function of human

presence, human static, human micro motion and human

motion detection, which can detect the presence or

absence of people in the area. It can also accurately

detect the static state such as personnel sleeping. The

sensor can output sensing results through wireless (WiFi,

ZigBee, Bluetooth, 4G) or wired (RS485, RS232, dry

contact, wet contact) to provide sensing and scene

intermodal functions for IOT ﬁelds such as smart home,
