Don'trocktheunitfromsidetoside,andusecarewhenmountingand
dismountingtheunit.
Donotuseanyaccessoriesthataren'tspecificallyrecommendedbythe
manufacturerasthesemightcauseinjuriesorcausetheunittofail.
Workwithinyourrecommendedexerciselevel.DoNOTworktoexhaustion.
Ifyoufeelanypainorabnormalsensations,STOPYOURWORKOUT.

materialsanddesignedforyearsoftroublefreeusage,the5100Rwillbeanintegral
partofyourfitnessregimen.
Beforeusingyourcycle,werecommendthatyoufamiliarizeyourselfwiththis
Owner'sManual.Whetheryouareafirsttimeuserofabicycleoraseasoned"pro,"
understandingthecorrectuseoftheequipmentwillenhanceyourabilitytoachieve

StepByStepInstructions:
Beforeassemblingyourcycle,makesurethatyouhaveallthepartslistedonthe
previouspage.
ThefollowingstepsexplainhowtoassembleyourSportsArt5100R.Pleaseread
everystepthoroughly,andfollowthedirectionscompletelytoensurecorrect
assembly.
1.Takeoutthecycleframefirstandmakesureallpackingmaterialsareremoved
fromtheunit.
2.Placethecycleonalevel,flatsurface.
3.Placetheuprightpostcoverintotheuprightpost.Locatethe16pincable
connectorinsidetheuprightpostandinsertitsecurelyintothesocket.
Tightentheconnectorbyturningbothscrewpinsclockwisetosecure.Insertthe
uprightposttothecycleframe(seeFig.1)
4.Use6pcs5/16"bolts,andwasherstosecuretheuprightpost(seeFig.2).

5.Use4pcsscrewsprovidedtosecuretheuprightpostcover(seeFig.3).
6.Attachthefootpedalstothecrankarmsonthecycleusingthewrenchprovided.
Becarefultoinstallthepedalsonthecorrectcrankarm.A"R"or"L"onthefoot
pedalindicatesthecorrectside.
Installthepedalmarked"R"ontherighthandcrankarm(asyoustandatthe
rearofthecyclefacingfront).Whenyouinstallthepedalonthelefthandcrank
arm,rotatethepedalcounterclockwisetotightensincethepedalhasleft-handed
screwthreads(seeFig.4).Tightenthepedalssecurely.

7.Usethe1/4"boltstofixthehandlebartotheuprightpost.Makesuretheangle
betweenthehandlebarandtheuprightpostismorethan90(seeFig.5).
8.Attachthehandlebarmountingplatetothecycleframe,usingtheboltsand
washersprovided.IfyourunitisequippedwithHandTouchReadout,connectthe
twowiresintherightplace"R"to"R"and"L"to"L"(seeFig.6).

9.Inserttheseatbackintotheseatpost,usingthe5/16"boltsandwashersto
secureit(seeFig.7).
10.Attachtheseatbasetothehandlebarmountingplate,usingtheboltsand
washersprovided.Inserttheboltsfromunderneaththeseat,twoinbackandtwo
infront,throughthehandlebarmountingplate.Tightentheboltssecurely(see
Fig.8).

11.Attachtheseatbackadjustmenthandgriptotheseatbackadjustmentlever,
usingthewrenchprovided.(seeFig.9)
Ifthecycleisunsteadyonyourfloor,turnthefloorleveladjustmenteitheronthe
frontorrearfeetofcycle.Raiseorlowerthefloorleveladjustmenttosteadyyour
cycle.Tightenthefloorleveladjustmentbythewrenchprovided.(seeFig.10)

SeatAdjustment
The5100Risequippedwithatwopieceseat,allowingyoutoadjusttheseatback's
angleofincline.Pullontheseatbackadjustmentleverandmovetheseatupand
backtofindthemostcomfortablepositionforyou,thenreleasethelever(see
Fig.11).
Beforeyourworkout,youmightneedtoadjusttheseattotheappropriatepositionfor
you.Sitonthecyclewithbothfeetinthepedalsandonelegextendedasfaras
possible,pullupontheseatadjustmentlever,andmovetheseatforwardand
backwarduntilthepedaldistanceiscomfortable.Releasetheseatadjustmentlever
(seeFig.12,13).

Youmaypressthe"ON"buttonintheelectronicpackageorpedaltheunittostart.
Theunitwillshutoffthepowerautomaticallywhenyoustoppedalingformorethan
twominutes.
Whenthepowerison,youwillautomaticallyentertheMANUALMODE,startingat
"LEVEL1",whiletheothersshowO.
IfthisistheModeyouwishtouse,youmaybegin.Ifyoudonotpedalwithin3
seconds,thewindowwilldisplaythemessage"PEDALTOSTARTWITHLOADIN
LEVEL".
1.When"MAN'L"appearsinthedisplaywindow,youcanadjusttheLEVELtoyour
desiredlevel.
2.PresstheLEVELbuttonstochooseyourdesiredworkoutLEVEL.
PresstheTIMEbuttonstosetyourdesiredworkouttime.
PresstheDISTANCEbuttonstosetyourdesiredworkoutdistance.
3.Ifyouwouldliketostopinthemiddleofyourworkoutordonotpedalfor3
seconds,thewindowwilldisplaythemessage"PEDALTOSTARTWITHLOAD
INLEVEL".Allinputdata(TIME,CAL.,etc.)willberetained.
4.WhenyourdesiredTIMEorDISTANCEisreached,abeeptonewillsoundfor10
secondstoalerttheuser.
PresstheMANUAL/SETkey,and"MAN'L"willshowinthedisplay.Pressthekey
onceagain,and"SET"willappearinthedisplay.ThenpressENTER.
1.YoucanchoosebetweenMILE/KILO,WEIGHTandMALE/FEMALEwhileinthe
SETmode.
2.Thereadoutwilldisplay"PRESSTOSELECTMILE/KILO".Presskeys
toselecteitherMILEorKILO,thenpressENTERtosaveyourselection.(Note:
choosingMILEwillautomaticallyselectpoundsintheweightcalculation,and
choosingKILOwillautomaticallyselectkilogramsintheweightcalculation.)
3.Youwillbepromptedtochoosebetween"MALE/FEMALE".Usetheto
selectyourchoice,thenpressENTERtorecordthatchoice.
4.Next,"ENTERWEIGHT"willscrollacrossthescreen.Thenthelastweight
settingwillshowonthedisplay.Usethekeystochangeyourdesiredweight.
Onceyouhavesetyourdesiredweight,press"ENTER"torecordthem.Thiswill
allowtheunittocalculatecaloricexpenditure.

Whateachofthesecategoriesmeans:
TIME:UsetheTIMEbuttonstosetthedesiredtimeofyourworkout.Each
pressofthebuttonchangesthetimeinincrementsof1minute.Pressingand
holdingthebuttonwillchangethedisplayby5minutesevery0.5seconds.
Duringyourworkout,theelectronicspackagewillcountdown,andthenbeep
for10secondswhenyourdesiredtimeisreached.Ifyourworkoutcontinues,
theunitwillstarttocountup.
LOAD(LEVEL):Thereare14levels,withLevel1beingthelightest,andLevel14
beingtheheaviest.UsetheLOADbuttonstosetthedesired
loadofyourworkout.Eachpressofthebuttonchangestheloadone
Level.PressingandholdingthebuttonwillchangeoneLevelevery
0.5seconds.
DISTANCE:UsetheDISTANCEbuttonstosetyourdesireddistance.Each
presschanges0.1miles(0.1km).Pressingandholdingthebuttonwill
changethedisplayby1miles(1km)every0.5second.
Duringyourworkout,theelectronicspackagewillcountdown,andthen
beepfor10secondswhenyourdesireddistanceshavebeenreached.
Ifyourworkoutcontinues,theunitwillstarttocountup.
CALORIE:Thisreadoutgivesyoutheamountofcaloriesburned,basedonthe
weightenteredandloadduringyourworkout.
PULSE:Thisreadoutdisplaystheheartrateperminuteduringyourworkout.
RPM:Asensorcountsthenumberofrevolutionstheflywheelmakesinoneminute,
andthisisdisplayedonthescreen.

DISTANCE:Usethebuttonstosetyourdesireddistance.Eachpress

GUIDELINESFOREXERCISE
TheSportsArt5100Rrequireslittlemaintenance.The5100R'ssmoothoperationis
dependentonkeepingtheunitascleanaspossible.
Regularcleaningisrecommendedtokeepyourcycle5100Ratpeakperformance.
Beforeyourworkout,useadryclothtocleanthesurfaceoftheelectronicspackage.
NOTE:NEVERPOURLIQUIDSONTHEELECTRONICSPACKAGE.
Tocleantheplasticparts,useamilddetergentandmakesuretheunitiscompletely
drybeforeoperating.
Itisrecommendedthatyoukeepallliquidsawayfromtheunitduringoperation.
Spillageofliquidsontoorintothemachinewillvoidthewarranty.
Thedurationofyourexercisesessionisdependentonyourfitnesslevel.Ingeneral,
itisrecommendedthatyoumaintainyourheartrateinthetrainingzoneforatleast
10minutestorealizeanaerobicbenefit.Asyourfitnesslevelincreases,youwillbe
abletomaintainyourheartrateinthetrainingzoneforlongerperiods:usually
between20and30minutes.
Whenstartingyourworkout,usethefirstseveralminutestowarmup,thenslowly
increaseyourworkloadtobringyourheartrateintoyourspecifictrainingzone.Atthe
endofyourworkout,graduallydecreaseyourworkload,thenexerciselightlyasa
"cooldown".
Aerobicexercises,toachievethegreatestbenefits,shouldbeperformed3-5timesa
week.Itisimportanttoallowsufficienttime,atleast24hours,foryourbodyto
recoverafterexercise.
