locationwhereitcanbeconnectedtothevariousdevicesaswell
astoapowersource.The931WIIshouldnotbeplacedwhereit
isexposedtomoistureorexcessiveheat.Ensurethecablesand
powercordareplacedsafelytoavoidtrippinghazard.Aswithany
electricalappliance,observecommonsafetyprocedures.

beabletoseetheLEDindicatorsinthefront,ifyoumayneedto
viewthemfortroubleshooting.
Designedtogoupto100metersindoorsandupto300meters
outdoors,WLANletsyouaccessyournetworkfromanywhereyou
want.However ,thenumbersofwalls,ceilings,orotherobjects
thatthewirelesssignalsmustpassthroughlimitsignalrange.Typ-
icalrangesvarydependingontypesofmaterialsandbackground
RFnoiseinyourhomeorbusiness.
Foroptimumrangeandsignalstrength,usethesebasicguidelines:
Keepthenumbersofwallsandceilingstotheminimum.
ThesignalemittedfromwirelessLANdevicescanpenetrate
throughceilingsandwalls.However,eachwallorceilingcan
reducetherangeofwirelessLANdevicesfrom1to30M.Posi-
tionyourwirelessdevicessothatthenumberofwallsorceil-
ingsobstructingthesignalpathisminimized.

Considerthedirectlinebetweenaccesspointsandworksta-
tions.
Awallthatis0.5metersthick,ata45-degreeangleappears
tobealmost1meterthick.Ata2-degreeangle,itappears
over14metersthick.Becarefultopositionaccesspointsand
clientadapterssothesignalcantravelstraightthrough(90º
angle)awallorceilingforbetterreception.
Buildingmaterialsmakeadifference.
Buildingsconstructedusingmetalframingordoorscanreduce
effectiverangeofthedevice.Ifpossible,positionwirelessde-
vicessothattheirsignalscanpassthroughdrywalloropen
doorways.Avoidpositioningtheminthewaythattheirsignal
mustpassthroughmetallicmaterials.Pouredconcretewalls
arereinforcedwithsteelwhilecinderblockwallsgenerallyhave
littleornostructuralsteel.
