BEFORE USING THE HOB
To make the most of your new appliance,
please read the user instructions carefully and
keep them handy for future consultation.
INSTALLATION - TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR THE
INSTALLER
Make sure that the appliance is installed and connected to an
electrical outlet and gas supply by a qualified technician, in
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and in
compliance with local regulations.
Before installation, make sure that the setting of this
appliance is compatible with local gas and pressure
conditions. The adjustment conditions of this appliance are
stated on the rating plate or on the label.
The appliance must be switched off before any maintenance.
Before installation, please read the following:
The cooktop must be installed into a countertop 20 to 40 mm
thick and 600 mm deep.
Inside the unit there must be a space of at least 30 mm
between the bottom of the cooktop and the top of an
appliance or bracket.
If the cooktop is to be installed next to a column unit, leave
a distance of at least 100 mm.
There must be a distance of at least 50 mm between the cooktop
and the wall.
If a hood or cupboard is installed above the cooktop, leave a
minimum distance of 650 mm.
The coatings of the walls of the unit or appliances near the
cooktop must be heat resistant.
Do not install the cooktop near flammable materials
(e.g., curtains).
Location of the appliance
The appliance should be installed where there is enough air
for the correct gas combustion (2 m3/h x kW).
The installer must refer to national standards concerning
ventilation and removal of combustion products.
There must be a natural airflow through one or more
openings, which must be:
- Permanent and made in the outside walls of the room to be
ventilated.
- Made so that the opening outlets, both inside and outside the
wall, cannot be obstructed.
- Protected with grids, metal grill, etc., so as not to reduce the
installation distances indicated above.
- Situated next to floor level so as not to impede the correct
operation of the combustion products removal devices.
When these openings cannot be made, the necessary air must
come from an adjacent room, ventilated as required, as long as
it is not a bedroom or a dangerous space. In this case the
kitchen door must allow the passage of air.

INSTALLATION - TECHNICAL INFORMATION FOR THE
INSTALLER
Discharge of combustion products
The combustion products of gas appliances must be discharged
through hoods connected directly to the outside.
When this is not possible, an electric fan can be used, attached to
the outside wall or to the window, The fan must be able to ensure
an hourly exchange of air 3-5 times the volume of the kitchen.
The fan can only be installed if there are suitable openings for
the air inlet.
Installation
- Remove the protective film from the cooktop.
- Cut an opening in the countertop to the dimensions shown in
the Product Description Sheet supplied separately.
- Stretch gasket
(C)
over the edge of the opening being careful
to overlay the junction edges.
- Turn the cooktop upside down and put tabs
(A)
into the seats
provided, tightening screws
(B)
.
Please make sure that the tabs are correctly positioned as

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Clean the cooktop, when it is cool, after each use to prevent
the build-up of dirt.
Use a clean cloth, absorbent kitchen wipes and liquid detergent.
Do not use abrasive, corrosive or chlorine based products, or
pan scourers.
Do not leave acid or alkaline substances, such as vinegar, salt
or lemon juice on the surface.
Enamelled cooktop
Enamelled parts must be washed with a sponge and soapy
water or other non-abrasive products.
Dry with a soft cloth. If acid substances such as lemon juice,
tomato sauce, vinegar, etc. are left on the enamel for a long
time they will etch it, making it opaque.
Stainless steel cooktop
Stainless steel parts must be rinsed with water and dried with
a soft and clean cloth or with a chamois leather.
For difficult dirt, use a specific non-abrasive product or a
little hot vinegar.
N.B.: Regular use could cause discolouring around the
burners, because of the high temperature.
Cleaning the burners and the grids
Burners and grids can be removed and washed with suitable
products.
After cleaning, dry carefully and reposition into their seats.
In models with a safety valve, make sure that the sensor near
each burner remains clean.
In appliances with electric ignition, make sure that the
electrode remains clean so that the sparks can strike
properly. The spark plugs must be cleaned very carefully.
N.B.: To avoid damaging the electric ignition, do not use the
cooktop when the burners are not in place.
Gas taps
The gas taps should be cleaned regularly
by a qualified
technician only
.
If the gas taps are not working correctly, call After-Sales
Service.
Correct position of the burners
It is very important to check the perfect positioning of the
burner spreader
(F)
and burner cap
(C)
(see figure) because if
they are moved out of their seats, serious problems might
occur.
Make sure that the
(S)
electrode is always clean so that the
sparks can strike.
In models with a safety valve, make sure that the sensor
(T)
near each burner is always clean so that the safety valve can
be adjusted properly. Both the sensor and the spark plug
must be cleaned carefully.
Triple crown burner
This burner must be correctly positioned (see figure), making
sure that the ribs enter their housing as indicated by the arrow.
If the burner is correctly positioned it will not turn.
Correctly position cap
(A)
and ring
(B)
in their housing.
