INTRODUCTION
Avoid damage to electrical cords. Keep the
electric cords away from heat, oil, sharp objects
and away from contact with the grinding wheel.
Do not jerk the cord to disconnect it from the
electrical outlet, and make certain the cord is
not under tension when in use.
Do not use damaged or defective cords
or plugs. Remove the plug from the outlet
immediately if it is damaged or cut. Never
use cords that are defective or non-standard.
Before starting the grinder, make certain it
is secure, and that the grinding wheel is
correctly installed. Check to make sure all
devices, those for safety and others, are in
good working order and free from obvious
damage that could affect performance and
safety or reliability during use.
Reduce the risk of unintentional starting.
Make certain the start switch is in the “0”
(off) position before connecting the plug to
the outlet.
■ GRINDER MAINTENANCE:
Read and follow all maintenance instructions
in this manual. It is critical that grinding
wheels are fitted properly and that they are
free of defects. – do not over tighten the wheel
retaining nut.
Keep guards in place and in good working
order. Never use the grinder with a damaged
wheel guard, or if the wheel guard is missing.
Disconnect power cord before servicing.
Make sure the plug is disconnected when
performing maintenance or when fitting
or changing the grinding wheel.
Use only recommended accessories or
replacement parts. Use only wheel mounting
flanges furnished with the grinder, as incorrect
flanges can cause the wheel to break, leading
to high speed ejection of parts.
Use only recommended grinding wheels.
Refer to Table 2, Page 17 for wheel size.
Wheel hole size must fit the grinder arbor size
exactly. Arbor size is identified on the grinder
identification plate. Check replacement
wheels for cracks – see procedure Page 8,
Paragraph B.
