OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR ‘GCO’ CONTROL
CONTROL MODULE type R80 ZSE designed for use with NOBO Panel heaters using Series 8 controls.
A Control module providing a restricted temperature scale ( 14 - 24 ) with a fixed Frost Protection setting,
supplied with pilot wire for switching in
dual temperature applications.
KEY to Fig. 1.
1 – Temperature adjustment control.
4 – Red Comfort mode indicator light.
5 – Green Economy mode indicator light.
6 – Amber operating indicator light.
8 – On / Off switch. l = On, 0 = Off.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Switch the heater on with switch (8).
Set required temperature with control (1).
Activate remote control device.
When the thermostat calls for heat the amber indicator (6) will also glow.
The action of the electronic thermostat provides proportional regulation of temperature. The Amber operating
indicator light will be seen to go on and off at frequent intervals as it adjusts the amount of heat supplied to
maintain room temperature. When room temperature is more than 1°C below the thermostat set point the
heater will operate continuously but during the last one degree the operation will be proportionally reduced
until the required temperature is achieved.
When the green indicator (5) is visible the heater will operate in economy mode and maintain the pre-set
background temperature. When the remote control device is activated the mode of operation is changed
from economy mode to comfort mode. The green indicator will go out and the red indicator (4) will come
on. If the room temperature is below the set point (1) the amber indicator (6) will come on and the heater
will raise room temperature accordingly. When the remote control device is de-activated heater will go
back to economy mode.
ACCESSORIE
S
Tamperproof covers are available for the switch and temperature scale mechanisms.
NOTE
The heater should not be covered or things be placed on or over the heater.
The heater is fitted with an over-temperature cut-out which will switch off the heating element in the event of
the heater becoming too hot. The element will not be switched back on again until the heater has cooled.
CLEANING
The heater may be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
The heater may be tilted forwards on its mounting bracket for cleaning and decorating behind the heater.
Pressing the clips downward at the back of the heater will release the heater from the mounting bracket.

NOBO PANEL RADIATORS
Incorporating CONTROL MODULE R80 ZSE designed for use with Panel heaters using Series 8 controls.
The NOBO Panel Heaters maybe supplied with 'ZSE or GCZ, GCH, GCO' control modules with restricted
temperature scales, including a temperature set-back capability. The flex connection incorporates an
extra pair of wires to facilitate switching, between the fixed and the adjustable temperature modes.
APPLICATION
Typically used in applications where the
operation of the heater is influenced by a
remote control device / energy management
system to switch between the fixed economy
temperature and the adjustable comfort
temperature settings.
PIR sensor, Run-back timer, Key-Card entry system are a few application examples for this control method.
Available in several different formats of temperature control
203 B - 'GCZ' has a temperature scale adjustable between: 14 - 21°C. and a fixed 16°C economy setting.
227 E - 'GCH' has a temperature scale adjustable between: 14 - 24°C. and a fixed 16°C economy setting.
233 F - 'GCO' has a temperature scale adjustable between: 14 - 24°C. and a fixed 10°C economy setting.
207 G - 'ZSE' has a temperature scale adjustable between: 5 - 30°C. and a fixed 5°C economy setting.
207 H - 'GCH' has a temperature scale adjustable between: 5 - 30°C. and a fixed 16°C economy setting.
USAGE
There are three alternative ways in which the Nobo Heater with this 'ZZ' type module may be used:
a. leaving the two 'Z' control wires disconnected to give only the fixed economy temperature.
b. or by connecting the two control wires to the permanent power supply to make continuous
use of the adjustable but restricted temperature scale.
c. or by switching one control wire to provide set-back or normal control as and when required.
