Foreword
General
This manual introduces the installation, use and interface operations of Recording & Broadcasting
Server (hereinafter referred to as "the Server"). Read carefully before using the Server, and keep the
manual safe for future reference.

This section introduces content covering the proper handling of the Server, hazard prevention, and
prevention of property damage. Read carefully before using the Server, and comply with the
guidelines when using it.
Transportation Requirements
Transport the Server under allowed humidity and temperature conditions.
Storage Requirements
Store the Server under allowed humidity and temperature conditions.
Operation Requirements
Do not place the Server in a place exposed to sunlight or near heat sources.
Keep the Server away from dampness, dust, and soot.
Install the Server on a stable surface to prevent it from falling.
Do not drop or splash liquid onto the Server, and make sure that there is no object filled with liquid
on the Server to prevent liquid from flowing into it.
Put the Server in a well-ventilated place, and do not block its ventilation.
Operate the Server within the rated range of power input and output.
Do not disassemble the Server.
Use the Server under allowed humidity and temperature conditions.
Installation Requirements
Do not connect the power adapter to the device while the adapter is powered on.
Strictly comply with the local electric safety code and standards. Make sure the ambient voltage is
stable and meets the power supply requirements of the device.

Do not expose the battery to environments with extremely low air pressure, or extremely high or
low temperatures. Also, it is strictly prohibited to throw the battery into a fire or furnace, and to cut
or put mechanical pressure on the battery. This is to avoid the risk of fire and explosion.
Use the standard power adapter or cabinet power supply. We will assume no responsibility for any
injuries or damages caused by the use of a nonstandard power adapter.
Do not place the Server in a place exposed to sunlight or near heat sources.

Put the Server in a well-ventilated place, and do not block its ventilation.
Install the Server on a stable surface to prevent it from falling.
The power supply must conform to the requirements of ES1 in IEC 62368-1 standard and be no
higher than PS2. Please note that the power supply requirements are subject to the device label.
The device is a class I electrical appliance. Make sure that the power supply of the Server is
connected to a power socket with protective earthing.
Use power cords that conform to your local requirements, and are rated specifications.
Before connecting the power supply, make sure the input voltage matches the power
requirements of the Server.
When installing the Server, make sure that the power plug and appliance coupler can be easily
reached to cut off power.
Install the Server near a power socket for emergency disconnect.
It is prohibited for non-professionals and unauthorized personnel to open the Server casing.

1 Introduction
Overview
The Recording & Broadcasting Server is a set of cost-effective and fully auto HD recording and
broadcasting system tailored for multimedia teaching. Working with HDCVI camera, the server adopts
advanced image tracking and analysis technology and can automatically control PTZ camera to locate
and capture standing student and teacher writing on the blackboard. The whole system operates
automatically without human intervention. The teacher and students do not have to wear any auxiliary
device, which is convenient for both teaching and learning. The auto recording also improves
efficiency of course recording and guarantees teaching performance.

Encodes videos to H.264 or H.265.
Encodes audios to AAC, G.711, G.722, or G.726.
Supports downloading recorded videos in MP4, FLV, and AVI formats.
Supports 16 kHz, 32 kHz, and 48 kHz audio sampling rate.
Recording and Broadcasting
Recording Modes
Switchable between Film, PIP, Film + Source, PIP + Source modes.
Supports recording the videos of source channels in Film + Source or PIP + Source mode.
Supports configuring the image layout in PIP or PIP + Source mode.
Director Modes
Switchable between Auto, Semi-Auto, and Manual.
Display Adjustment
Displays course information, total and free space of HDD, and remaining record time.
Displays 6 or 8 source channels.
Switchable image definition and aspect ratio.
Adjustable volume.
PTZ Control
Supports controlling PTZ focus and zoom in the manual mode. You can switch and rename
preset scenes.
Supports fast positioning. Click any position on the image, and then PTZ will rotate around
the very position. You can drag a square to track objects. Drag left to zoom in the square and
drag right to zoom out.

Auto Tracking Director
The function might vary with models, and might differ from the actual product.
Supports auto detection, tracking and switching of teacher and students throughout broadcasting
and recording.
Automatically locates and captures the teacher.
Tracks and captures walking teacher.
Captures close-up of standing students.
Switches to PPT channel when PowerPoint slides are used.
Switches to Platform channel when the teacher is lecturing on the platform.
Live
Supports broadcasting the course online.
Switchable image definition and aspect ratio.
Adjustable volume.
Recording Control
During course recording, you can pause or stop recording. When you resume recording after a pause,
recording will continue with the previous file. When you resume recording after a stop, a new file will
be generated.
Curriculum
Supports setting a curriculum in advance according to the teaching plan. Based on the curriculum,
the system can automatically start and end recording. You can also launch an unplanned course.
Supports importing curriculum by day or by week.
Supports editing added curriculum.
Video Management
Search by keywords including course name, teacher name, course introduction.
Edit, modify, delete, lock, play, and download recorded videos or upload videos to the FTP server.
Overlay
Supports adding custom head or tail to the course video.
Overlays live, director, and recorded videos with custom station logo and subtitle.
User Management
Supports user authentication and group-based management. You can grant different permission for
different user groups. A user group might include multiple users. Users fall in five groups: Visitor,
Student, Teacher, Admin, and Super Admin.

2 Unpacking
When you receive the Server, check against the following checklist. If any of the items are missing or
damaged, contact the local retailer or after-sales service immediately.

4 Installation
Preparation
Make sure that the computer is on the same network with the Server and can access the Server.
Make sure that video and audio cables are available.
Make sure that the computer adopts Intel i5 or faster processor and has at least 4 GB of memory.
We recommend using IE11 or later browser.
Installing HDD
For the first-time use, make sure that the HDD has been installed. Use the surveillance SATA hard drive
recommended by the HDD manufacturer.
Before installing or replacing an HDD, unplug the power cable to cut off power. Put on anti-static
gloves before operation.
The following figures are for reference only, and might differ from the actual device.
The section takes the installation of 1U series as an example.

Turn over the Server and then fasten the HDD to the bottom panel of Server with screws.

Connect the data cable and power cable of HDD to the Server.

5 Local Operations
Starting the Server
Before turning on power, make sure that the input voltage matches the power requirement of the
Server.
Make sure that the Server has been connected to power adapter before powered on.
To ensure stable work of the Server and its external devices such as camera and to prolong the
service life of HDD, we recommend that you should refer to related national standard to use a
power source that provides stable voltage with less interference from ripples.
Connect the Server to a monitor.
Plug in the power cable of the Server.
Press the power button to turn on the Server. The power indicator light turns on and the
Server boots up. On the connected monitor, the live multi-screen view is displayed by default.
Initializing the Server
When booting up for the first time, you need to configure the username (admin by default) and
password of the administrator.
To ensure device security, keep the password properly after initialization and change the password
regularly.
Procedure
Turn on the Server.
Initialize the server

Enter and confirm password, and enter password hint.
After setting password hint, on the login window, you can click to display the
information that helps to remind you of the password.
Click Next.
Unlock pattern
Set unlock pattern.
The pattern that you want to set must cross at least four points.
Once you have configured the unlock pattern, the system will require the unlock pattern
as the default login method.
Password protection
Set password protection information.
After configuration, if you forgot the password for admin user, you can reset the
password through the linked email address or security questions.
If you do not want to configure the settings, disable Reserved Email and Security
Question on the window.

You can also log in to the web interface and then select Account > Modify
Password to change the password or linked email address.
Security Question
Set the security questions and corresponding answers. In case you forgot
password, you can reset the password after entering the answers to the
questions.
Right-click the live page and then select Security Question to set or
change security questions.
Click OK.
Configuring Network
After initialization, you need to configure the IP address to access network.
Right-click the live page, and then select Network from the shortcut menu.
