1. INTRODUCTION
1.1 VENTUS F1 System overview
VENTUS F1™ is a product that broke away from the existing measurement system. It can be
used without the PC or Notebook. It is suitable for mass production and the signal room.
It is a portable measurement system unlike the existing Signal Generator. It can be used for
many purposes such as development, product demonstration, marketing, and domestic and
overseas business trip purposes.
Basically, it consists of Embedded PC (SSD HDD built in), ASI-INPUT, ASI-OUTPUT port, RF
Modulator, and RF Upconverter. If the user wants, any DTV SD format in the world can be
used. DTV SD formats supported by VENUS F1 are as follows.
DVB-T/H, DVB-C (A,C), ATSC(8VSB), OpenCable, ISDB-T/Tb, T-DMB
ISDB-T/SBTV

1.2 VENTUS Development Concept
VENTUS F1 solution can be used to test all DTV SD formats in the world. It is a All-in-One type
measurement solution. As it is a portable product, it has maximized user convenience.

VENTUS device is possible to transmit DTV Skill Standard by RF through USB Interface between
VENTUS and PC or Notebook.

3. SYSTEM OPERATING
3-1. VENTUS Hardware Install
Embedded PC is built in VENTUS F1. It is not necessory to install software.

The above operating is a Procedure after selecting Modulation Type.

SELECTING CW MODE
1. To use CW mode, press #5 Modulator on Menu.
2. When you select a menu, CW Modulator Please Wait for the notication to display text set-
tings complete text disappears
3. On the Settings menu, select the Parameter button, you will select the following menu.
4. Once set up the initial menu, the ESC button and select the Play button will be bailed out.
SELECTING RF OUTPUT : DVBT
1. To use DVB-T mode, the LCD Main Menu, select #5 Modulator.
2. DVB-T option is separated in (2,8 K) menu, and (4K) menu.
3. After setting DVB- T/H in Modulator selection, Select the Settings menu #6 to click Param-
eter.
- To set Parameter value, please use cursor key to change details parameters value.

Once set up, the ESC button will take out to the previous menu.
4. When Parameter settings has been completed, Click # 4 from Menu to select transmitting
stream.
- It is available to open Species the stream from the built-in SSD hard disk or external USB
disk. Select your stream by using the ENTER button.
5. Once you select a stream by using ESC button to go to the previous menu, the frequency and
level setting. First, the frequency settings are as follows.
After clicking the #1 from menu, the Frequency menu will display. Set the desired frequency
using the cursor keys.
Use up and down cursor keys to change the frequency, left and right cursor keys to move the
unit.
Once set up the frequency, go to the previous menu by clicking ESC button
6. Once set up specify the frequency for power transmission from the Settings menu, select
# 2 from Menu.
-> Set desired transmission power level by using the cursor keys
- Use UP/Down Cursor Key to Change the Level, and use Left/ Right Cursor Key to
Change the unit.
7. When completing setting, the DVB-T is ready for transmission.
Press the ESC button to exit to initial menu. Use PLAY button to play.
If you need to save the settings, go to the Settings menu. to click the Project menu.
Then select # 9 from the Store menu. Choose from slot -1 to slot 10 to save.
When ones need to open saved le, click [Recall] menu and select slot 1 ~ slot 10.
SELECTING RF OUTPUT : DVBC
1. To use DVB-C mode, the LCD Main Menu, select #5 Modulator.
- DVB-C Modulator of the following options are selected by the ENTER button.
- When is not Multi option, it will only show the available option.
2. After setting DVB- C in Modulator selection, Select the Settings menu #6 to click Parameter.
- To set Parameter value, please use cursor key to change details parameters value.

SELECTING RF OUTPUT : ATSC
1. To use ATSC mode, the LCD Main Menu, select #5 Modulator
- Sselect ATSC by clicking ENTER button.
- When is not Multi option, it will only show the available option.
2. After setting DVB- C in Modulator selection, Select the Settings menu #6 to click Parameter.
- INPUT Type : SSD ( Embedded PC Harddisk build-in)
- Once set up, the ESC button will take out to the previous menu.
3. When Parameter settings has been completed, Click # 4 from Menu to select transmitting
stream.
It is available to open Species the stream from the built-in SSD hard disk or external USB
disk. Select your stream by using the ENTER button.

SELECTING RF OUTPUT : OPENCABLE
1. To use OpenCable mode, the LCD Main Menu, select #5 Modulator
- Sselect Open-Cable by clicking ENTER button.
- When is not Multi option, it will only show the available option.
2. After setting OpenCable in Modulator selection, Select the Settings menu #6 to click Param-
eter.
- INPUT Type : SSD ( Embedded PC Harddisk build-in)
- Once set up, the ESC button will take out to the previous menu.
