How are flight modes activated?
1. Flight mode 1 is always switched on
(because at least one mode must be active).
2. Modes 2 to 5 can be activated by operating
switches, and you can select the switches to use.
Possible options are the „normal“ switches (S01
to S12), transfer switches (T1 or T2), momentary
switches (B1 to B3), control switches (C1 - C6)
and logical switches (LOG1 to LOG4).
3. Mode 5 is dedicated to AUTO-ROTATION, and
this mode has top priority.
What does PRIORITY mean
in the case of flight modes?
The easiest way to explain this is to use an example.
We will assume that you have switched on flight mode
3 (e.g. AEROBATICS). If you now operate the switch
to select mode 4 or 5, you will leave AEROBATICS
mode and switch to the new flight mode.
Note:
The higher the number of the flight mode,
the higher its priority.
Logically, then, switching to flight mode 1 or 2 (lower
priority) will not end the AEROBATICS flight mode.
Now we can see why flight mode 5 is dedicated to
AUTO-ROTATION. Since flight mode 5 has top prior-
ity it is always possible to switch directly to AUTO-
ROTATION from any other mode.
How does the transition to a different flight
mode occur?
When you operate the switch to select a new flight
mode the software first checks whether the new flight
mode has higher priority than the currently active one.
If so, then all flight mode dependent settings are ad-
justed to the settings for the new mode.
Suppose that you are switching to a flight mode which
calls for a higher motor speed. This will occur auto-
matically, as you have already prepared the higher
value by modifying the throttle curve. When you oper-
ate the switch you might expect the throttle channel to
„jump“ to the new value immediately, which would not
be desirable. Far better if the transition could be
slowed or smoothed out.
In fact you can set a transition time which is selected
in the same menu where you assign the switch to
activate the flight mode.
This menu is located in the sub-menu FLIGHT MODE
in Menu 3, and looks like this:

Pressing the select button opens the field to select
the desired flight mode.
Pressing the select button opens the TIME field
and you can set a value between 0 and 10 seconds.
Pressing the select button opens the field for as-
signing a switch.
Pressing the select button opens the field for nam-
ing the flight mode. You can leave the name field only
by pressing one of the two lower buttons or . You
cannot continue changing the settings for another
flight mode until you have completed this stage.
A few words about ...
MIXERS
Mixers blend signals from different transmitter controls
and pass them on to a single servo.
In our transmitter there are two types of mixer:
1. ready-made mixers, and
2. „free“ mixers.
The ready-made mixers are already stored in the
transmitter and are ready for use. All the mixer inputs
which are required for the task in hand are already
programmed, and this can save you a lot of time.
Free mixers allow you to set up and adjust the inputs
to suit your own requirements; in fact, that is what you
must do in order to use them. This means more work
for you, but the reward is that they give you all the
freedom you could possibly need.
As you would expect, it is possible to combine both
types of mixer, although only in one way: you can use
a ready-made mixer as an input to a free mixer. You
cannot add extra inputs to a ready-made mixer. How-
ever, if a mixer includes inputs that are not required,
you can simply switch them off.
