5.2 Station name
The station name is a unique device name in the PROFINET network to identify an IO
device. The name is specied and assigned by means of the development environment
for the controller, as per IEC 61158-6-10. The station name is represented in the
KEBA PROFINET devices as an object. The name can also be edited using KeStudio
DriveManager and saved in the device. After a change in KeStudio DriveManager, it is
recommended to save the change and restart the device. The initial station name is
"kedrived3-33x". It must be ensured that the station name is unique in the network.
5.3 Field bus device description le KeDrive D3
The name of the GSDML le is based on the following schematic:
Schematic: GSDML-<Version> <Manufacturer> <Device_name> <Date>.xml
Example: GSDML-V2.42-KEBA-0173-KeDrive D3-DA-<yyyymmdd>.xml (example)
yyyy: year; mm: month; dd: day
The latest device description le is available for download in the Data Portal at https://
www.keba.com/en/industrial-automation/service-support/downloads/data-portal
Note:
The scheme for the le name must be maintained because the le name is
part of the specication. Various master systems will check this aspect during
integration.
5 Installation of the PROFINET eld
bus system
5.1 Device description le (GSDML)
Similar to the GSD le for the PROFIBUS eld bus system, the GSDML le (Generic
Station Description Markup Language le) contains data and communication features
for the PROFINET eld bus system. These XML-based data are imported into the
engineering tool for the IO controller (master) during the conguration of your PROFINET
network. The data contain, for example:
yDescriptions of the individual input and output assemblies.
ySlot denitions
yOptions for the usage of I/O modules in the slots.
yImportant parameters for the operation of the eld devices.
yDescription of several devices in a family in one le.
yTelegrams supported by the device.
yDefault station name
5.1.1 Properties of the GSDML le
yThe content of the GSDML le follows the standard ISO 15745.
yIn a GSDML le for PROFINET IO a complete device family (several device
access points and peripheral modules) can be described.
yFor each Device Access Point (DAP) available in the device family the
manufacturer can dene a series of peripheral modules.

5.5 Topology
The KeDrive D3 multi-axis controller supports the following PROFINET network
topologies:
Line
Star
Tree
Line
Star
Tree
NOTE:
Network distributors in the form of a switch must also be represented in a
SIEMENS controller conguration. It is necessary to select a corresponding
switch type (managed or unmanaged switch) depending on the application
class at hand.
Redundancy by means of a ring topology using the MRP protocol is not
supported by the device (MRP = Media Redundancy Protocol).
The PROFINET network:
yCan be installed as per the guidelines from the user organisation PI and meets
all relevant requirements in the industrial environment.
yFollows the layout of the machine, as a consequence the wiring effort is
reduced and the commissioning easier.
yCan be realised preferably using line structures.

5.6 KeStudio DriveManager via PROFINET
Due to the concept, it is only possible to access KeStudio DriveManager (Service Tool)
using tunnelled TCP/IP packets via PROFINET. The control system must support this
routing function.
As a rule, development environments provide functions for IP, subnet mask, gateway
and name assignment via DCP1. It is a prerequisite for establishing a connection with
KeStudio DriveManager that each device is assigned a unique IP address using the DCP
protocol.
An example in SIEMENS TIA Portal with a controller is shown in Figure 5.1 and
Figure 5.2. In this situation, the controller can send the conguration to the
KeDrive D3-DA controller using the MAC address.
