1. Outline
Introduction to
SCAN client
certificate
In order to connect to SCAN, it’s necessary to install client certificate into your computer.
This manual introduces you detail about installation of the client certificate.
Following diagram is brief workflow to get started using SCAN system.

Schedule
Please note that, in order to keep security of SCAN system, the client certificate will expire
730 days after the date issued. Suzuki Motor Corporation will inform SCAN administrator
about updating procedure a month before the expiration.

The point of SCAN certificate
Client certificate is sent to SCAN administrator in your company by E-mail.
Client certificate expires 730 days after the date issued.

2. How to Install Client Certificate
Prepare new
certificate
SCAN administrators at SCAN stations have received "SCAN certificate and password"
from Suzuki Motor Corporation by E-mail. Please save the certificate to local folder on
your computer.
File name:
certificate.pfx + Password
Start Internet
Explorer
Start Internet Explorer, then choose [Internet Options …] in [Tools] menu.
*Following screen copy is captured from English version of Internet Explorer 6.0.

Choose [Content] tab and press [Certificates …] button in the Certificates box, then
Certificate Manager window will be shown.

Press [Import …] button, then Certificate Manager Import Wizard will be started.

Select certificate

Open the folder, which the certificate file is saved, and choose it.
Press [Next >] button.
Enter password
Type password for the certificate and press [Next >] button.

Select a
Certificate Store
Make sure that [Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate] is
selected, then press [Next >] button.
Finish import

Press [Finish] button.
Confirmation

Press [Yes] button.

If following dialog is shown, the certificate has been successfully imported. Press [OK]
button.

Confirm
installation
Make sure that imported certificate issued by SUZUKI TRUSTED NETWORK CA exists
in [Personal] tab and the Expiration date is valid. Then, press [Close] button.
Finish installation
Finally, press [OK] button in Internet Options screen to close it. Then, All the steps of new
certificate installation are finished.

3. How to access to SCAN
Open URL
Start Internet Explorer and open following URL.
https://scan.suzuki.co.jp/main/
* URL header is “https” not “http”.
* Please don’t forget to add “/” to last of the URL.
Select certificate
Select certificate, which you have installed, and then press [OK] button.
Login screen of SCAN will be shown.

1. When is the
certificate
available?
When you have received certificate, the certificate is already available. Please install it and
try to connect to SCAN.
2. We want to
connect to SCAN
from more than
one computer.
What you need to do is only installing new certificate into all those computers (with copied
certificate file) by the same procedure mentioned in this document.
3. I cannot
connect to SCAN.
Please refer to “Trouble Shooting” section in this document which will help you to solve
your problem. If your problem will not be solved, please contact SCAN support desk with
detailed report of your problem.
4. How should I do
for expired
certificate?
Please refer to section 2 and start [Certificate Manager]. Then, select expired certificate
and press [Remove] button.
5. Certificate is
lost.
First of all, please confirm SCAN administrator in your company whether he/she has
original certificate or not. If he/she doesn’t have it, please contact SCAN support desk and
ask to reissue certificate. SCAN support desk send certificate to SCAN administrator by
E-mail again.
6. SCAN
administrator has
changed.
All notice related SCAN certificate will be informed to SCAN administrator in your
company. Therefore, if SCAN administrator has changed, please inform SCAN support
desk about new SCAN administrator.

questions?
When you have any problems or questions, please refer to this manual and try to solve
them. Furthermore, SCAN administrator in your company may help you.
If you cannot solve them, please summarize your problem or question and contact following

Flow
If you have any problem regarding connection to SCAN, please follow the following flow
and try to solve the problem.
I cannot access to SCAN.
Can you connect to your
Internet service provider
(ISP)?
The problem is in the connection
with your Internet service provider
(ISP). Please ask network
administrator of your company.
Is SCAN certificate installed
correctly?
Is the login screen of SCAN
shown?
A certain problem is in a SCAN
system or your configuration of
Internet Explore is inappropriate.
Please contact SCAN administrator
with the message of your Internet
Explorer (a screen copy is the best).
Re-install the certificate and try to
access to SCAN again.
