Using the Digital Controls
Turning the Image
LCD On and Off
Press the OK button
to turn on the LCD.
Images from the
selected folder
appear in a Display
mode. Press the
Cancel button to turn off the LCD.
Selecting a Display Mode and
Navigating through Images
Turn on the Image LCD or press the Cancel
button to return to Display mode. Press the
top or bottom of the Four-way switch to
change the Display mode.
Press the left or right of the Four-way switch
to navigate through images.
Display the Menu Bar and
Select a Menu Icon
In Display mode, press the Menu button to
display the Menu bar.
Press the left or right of the Four-way switch
to highlight a Menu icon.
Menu Bar
To make a Menu selection, press the top or
bottom of the Four-way switch to highlight
your choice. Press the OK button.
Contrast Icon
Video Icon
This icon appears on the Menu bar only when
video is enabled.

1. Estimate of the number of images that can be
captured to the installed CF Card.
2. ISO setting.
3. Fill level (in color) indicates the approximate
amount of space available on the active card.
4. Name of the active folder and the number of
images in that folder.
5. Current image format – full frame, horizontal,
or vertical.
6. Appears if the DCS 645 is connected to a
computer and flashes if the KODAK
PROFESSSIONAL DCS Capture Studio or DCS
Camera Manager software is not running.
7. DCS 645 Battery level.
8. Number of the currently selected image.
COMPACTFLASH Cards
The DCS 645 has a slot
for a COMPACTFLASH+
Type II Card (CF Card).
The card can be solid
state or IBM MicroDrive.
To insert a CF Card,
open the Card door and
insert.
Important! Be sure the
Card Busy LED is off
before you remove a
card. A blinking Card
Busy LED indicates
data is being transferred
to or from the card. You
can lose data if you remove a card when it
is busy.
To remove a CF Card, press the Eject button.
Powering the DCS 645
Power the DCS
Pro Back 645
with the included
AC adapter or
battery.
Use the included
battery charger to
charge the battery
before its first use.
Check battery status
on the Image LCD.
