DK Digital AS-200

DK Digital AS-200 is a home theater system that can reproduce audio signals and receive radio transmissions. Please read this manual carefully to learn about all the functions available and to ensure your own safety.

Important Safety Instructions, please Read Carefully!
This unit is meant to reproduce audio
signals and to receive radio transmissions.
Using it in any other way warranty
invalidates the warranty and you risk
electric shock.
Never attempt to open the housings of
your surround speaker set or to service
the product beyond that described in this
manual. All servicing or repair must be
referred to qualified service personnel
authorised by us.
To avoid the risk of electric shock never
use the product in humid areas or near
water - e.g. near a bathtub, washbowl,
kitchen sink, in a wet basement or near a
swimming pool, or the like.
This unit is intended for use with the
mains voltage indicated on the unit’s
back label. Never try to use it with
different voltage supply.
Proper air circulation around the
housing - especially at the subwoofers
rear side - must be provided to avoid
overheating.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands
or use a damaged power cord. Otherwise
you face risk of life by electric shock.
If objects have fallen inside or liquid
has been spilt onto the product disconnect
the plug from the mains immediately and
consult qualified service personnel.
Never let children play with the unit or
stick anything into it. Otherwise the child
faces the risk of electric shock.
Do not place the unit near strong magnetic
fields, water or heat. It should not be
exposed to direct sunlight for a longer
period. Avoid positions with heavy dust or
poor ventilation. The unit should not be
exposed to mechanical vibrations or
shock.
If you put off your home cinema system to
standby, it is not separated from the
mains power system. Thus, put off the
device with the MAIN POWER switch on
the back side of the device or always pull
the power plug out of the socket if you
don’t use the system for a longer period of
time.
Never touch a power cord with wet hands!
Never use a damaged power cord to avoid
risk of life by electric shock.
After disconnection from the mains you
can use a soft damp cloth to clean the
housing. Don’t use strong cleansing
products.

Setting up the system
You can setup the centre speaker of your new home cinema system on a plane and stable
surface. The stand of the subwoofer should be located close to a properly connected power
socket. In order to ensure a sufficient ventilation, the subwoofer must not be operated
behind curtains or the like. Possible ventilation openings of the devices must not be covered
by newspapers, curtains etc. The centre speaker is magnetically shielded and may be
operated near a TV set without any negative influence to the TV picture.
The right and the left speaker transmit the stereo channels and the centre speaker
transmits a type of summed signal from the other two speakers. If you have connected an
audio source in 5.1-channel format, the centre speaker will transmit the centre signals. The
surround channels, for which no individual speakers are provided, are combined and
transmitted as one surround sound.

1) AM Input for MW loop antenna
Please connect the lead wires of the supplied MW loop antenna here.
2) FM Input for FM dipole antenna
Please connect the supplied FM dipole antenna here.
3) CD STEREO IN 2 CHANNEL INPUT
You can connect stereo audio signals to the CD input (e.g. the audio output of a CD player).
4) TV STEREO IN 2 CHANNEL INPUT
You can connect stereo audio signals to the TV input (e.g. the audio output of a TV).
5) AUX STEREO IN 2 CHANNEL INPUT
You can connect stereo audio signals of an additional system to the AUX input.
6) 5.1 CHANNEL INPUT EXTEND 5.1 CHANNEL INPUT
Here you can connect audio systems with analogue 5.1-channel output via the supplied
adaptor cable, e.g. DVD players. The cinch plugs are provided with markings so you know
which plug belongs to which output.

7) SPEAKER OUT OUTPUT TO CENTRE SPEAKER
For connecting the centre speaker, please only use the supplied special cable. Do not use
other cables!
8) MAIN POWER ON/OFF
Using this power switch you connect the unit to the mains and activate it.
9) FUSE - CAUTION!
This cab holds the primary fuse. You must never open the cab as long as the
unit is connected to the mains power. Otherwise you face the risk of life by
electric shock!
This fuse should only be serviced or replaced by an authorised technician.
10) AC IN - Power Cable
Power cord for AC230V~ mains voltage.
Hook up
In order to avoid malfunctions and / or damage of the speakers or other connected
devices, please establish all connections while the devices involved are switched
off.
Connection of the centre speaker
To connect the centre speaker enclosed you may only use the special cable provided. Only
the centre speaker enclosed to this set can be connected to the subwoofer.

Connecting Audio Sources
1. Connect the 5.1 input (5.1 CHANNEL INPUT EXTEND) at the subwoofer’s back panel to
devices providing audio signals via separated outputs for front, surround, centre, and
subwoofer, e. g. DVD players. Only use the supplied adaptor cable 6x RCA to
9-pole-plug.
The RCA plugs are labelled with letters so you know which plug belongs to which output:
FL - Please connect this plug to the output for the left front speaker.
FR - Please connect this plug to the output for the right front speaker.
RL - Please connect this plug to the output for the left rear speaker.
RR - Please connect this plug to the output for the right rear speaker.
CEN - Please connect this plug to the output for the centre speaker.
SUB - Please connect this plug to the output for subwoofer.

2. Connect the stereo input (STEREO IN) at the subwoofer’s back panel to stereo devices
like television, CD players, or cassette tapes.

The Remote Control
Take out the remote control handset from the package. Open
the battery compartment on its rear side. Insert two batteries
(1,5 V, size AAA). Please make sure the polarity matches the
marks inside the compartment. Otherwise the r/c will not work
and may be damaged. We recommend using alcaline batteries.
Replace the cover.
Should the r/c start to work unreliably replace both batteries.
Please point the r/c towards the main unit when calling up
functions. No obstacles may stand in the way between r/c and
infrared sensor.If you won’t use the r/c for a week or longer, please
remove the batteries from the compartment, to prevent damage by
leakage.
Batteries must not be disposed by ordinary refuse dis
-
posal. Please lead empty batteries towards appropria
-
te collecting points. Never throw batteries into fire.
1 STANDBY - on / off switch :
Use this key to switch the unit on and off in stand-by mode, provided
the MAIN POWER switch on the subwoofer’s rear panel is in ON
position (I).
2 DVD / 5.1 CH:
Press this key to activate the 5.1 channel input of the device.
3 ST / MO:
Press this key to switch between stereo and mono playback during
FM radio mode.
4 FUNCTION:
Use this key to select the desired parameter, which you can then
adjust via the MASTER VOL +/—.
5 MASTER VOL+/—:
Use these buttons to set the overall volume of your home cinema.
6 Numeric buttons for selecting and storing radio channels.
7 MEMORY:
This button lets you store radio stations into the station memory.
8 SCAN +/— :
Press the “+” or “—“ key to start an upward or downward channel
search during radio mode.
9 FM / AM:
To toggle the radio band FM / AM.

10 RADIO:
Use this button to activate the built-in tuner.
11 STEREO IN:
Press this key to activate the 3 stereo inputs one after the other.
12 MUTE:
Press this button to silence the sound. Press it again to reactivate the sound.
Operating the Home Cinema Set
Connect the plug of the power cord to a properly connected AC230V power socket. Set the
mains switch (MAIN POWER) on the backside of the subwoofer to the ON position (I). The
system is now in operation and the display shows the current operation mode.
Playback of external signal sources
1. Press the INPUT key to activate the available inputs : AC-3 IN (5.1) => Radio => CD IN =>
TV IN => AUX IN one after the other.
As an alternative, you can also...
- press the RADIO key on the remote control to switch to tuner mode.
- press the DVD / 5.1 CH key to activate the 5.1-channel input
- press the STEREO IN key to activate the inputs
CD IN => TV IN => AUX IN one after the
other.
2. You can adjust the volume via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys on the remote
control. Press the “+” key to increase the volume and the “—“ key to decrease the
volume. The volume which has been set is shown on the display.
3. You can adjust the volume of the individual speakers in relation to each other or the
sound spectrum during operation mode by doing the following:
Adjust the total volume to an appropriate value.
Press the FUNCTION key once. After that you can change the volume of the two front
speakers via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys.
Press the FUNCTION key twice. After that you can change the volume of the centre
speaker via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys.
Press the FUNCTION key three times. After that you can change the volume of the
subwoofer via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys.
Press the FUNCTION four times. After that you can change the high sound proportion
of the sound spectrum via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys.
Press the FUNCTION key five times. After that you can change the low sound proporti
-
on of the sound spectrum via the MASTER VOL “+” and “—“ keys.
Radio mode
1. If you have switched to radio mode, a frequency value is shown on the display. If M for
MHz (megahertz) is displayed, the FM band is active. If
KH for kHz (kilohertz) is
displayed, the MW band is active. You can switch between the two frequencies via the
FM/AM key on the remote control or via the system.

2. Use the SCAN “+” / “—“ keys to select the channels. Press the SCAN “+” key repeatedly
for a short period of time to search for radio channels, which broadcast on a higher
frequency than the one currently displayed. Press the SCAN “—” key repeatedly for a
short period of time to search for radio channels, which broadcast on a lower frequency
than the one currently displayed. If the SCAN “+” or “—“ key is pressed for a second, the
upward or downward channel search will start. When the system has found a radio
channel with sufficient signal strength, the channel search is stopped and the channel is
played back.
3. FM channels usually broadcast in stereo. During difficult reception conditions, a FM
channel may be broadcast with a little noise or other disturbances. If this is the case,
switch to mono mode via the ST / MO key to eliminate as much of the noise as possible.
After the switching process, the mode “MONO” or “STEREO” is shown on the display for
some seconds.
4. You can store your favourite radio channels to up to 20 pre-set memory locations per
radio band, so you can activate them at the touch of a key. This is done in the following
way:
Tune the desired radio channel as was described above.
Press the MEMORY key to start the storing process.
Enter the desired pre-set memory location from 0 – 9 via the numerical keys of the
remote control within 3 seconds. The display then shows MEM 0X and the radio channel is
now stored to the desired memory location. In order to store to a pre-set memory
location between 10 and 20, press the +10 key once and then the desired numerical key.
Example: In order to store to pre-set memory location 15, press the +10 key and then
key “5”.
5. You select the stored radio channels by activating the desired pre-set memory location
via the numerical keys on the remote control. In case of two-digit memory locations use
the +10 key.
You can switch off the sound of the system via the MUTE key. During this mode, the display
will constantly show
MUTE”. Press the “MUTE” key again to switch on the sound.
Press the STANDBY key on the remote control or the subwoofer to switch the system to
standby mode. The red indication light is then flashing in the display. In order to save
power, turn the power switch on the back of the system to OFF position (O).

Disposal advice
When the operating life of this device has ended it must not be disposed as
domestic waste, but in accordance with national environmental guidelines.
