A IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

U BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
Turn to “CARE AND MAINTENANCE” and clean the appliance, to remove manufacturing dust, etc.
C PREPARATION
1 Sit the motor unit on a stable, level surface.
, In use, treat the jug, blade unit, and collar as a single unit.
2 Lower the jug on to the motor unit, then turn the jug clockwise, to lock it in place.
3 Remove the lid.
4 Put the ingredients into the jug.
5 Don’t fill past the 1500ml mark. If you do, the contents may force the lid off when you start
the motor.
6 Replace the lid.
7 Align the pips on the cap with the slots in the hole in the lid, fit the cap, and turn it clockwise
to lock it.
8 Don’t run the appliance without fitting the cap.

C SWITCH ON
9 Check that the speed control is set to 0.
10 Put the plug into the power socket.
C SPEED CONTROL
11 Turn the speed control to the speed you want (1 = low, 2 = high).
12 Turn the speed control back to 0 to turn the motor off.
13 Generally, large quantities, thick mixes, and a high ratio of solids to liquids suggest longer
timings and slower speeds.
14 Smaller quantities, thinner mixes, and more liquids than solids suggest shorter timings and
higher speeds.
15 Turning the speed control anti-clockwise to Y will give you a short burst at high speed. In
this direction, the knob is spring-loaded. When you let go, it’ll return to 0.
C ADDING INGREDIENTS
16 To add ingredients while the blender is working, remove the cap, pour the new ingredients
through the hole, then replace the cap.

17 Switch the appliance off (0) and unplug it.
18 Turn the jug anti-clockwise, and lift it off the motor unit.
U CRUSHED ICE
19 For best results, full the jug with between 150ml and 500ml of ice cubes.
20 Put the lid on the blender, then:
21 Turn the speed control to Y for a second or two, then release it.
22 Check the results, and adjust.
} USING THE MILL
23 Turn the mill upside down.
24 Unscrew the collar.
25 Remove the blade unit and seal.
26 Put the goods to be ground into the bowl – dry goods only.
27 Replace the blade unit and seal.
28 Screw the collar back into place.
29 Turn the mill right way up.
30 Lower the mill on to the motor unit, then turn it clockwise, to lock it in place.
31 Turn the speed control to Y in short bursts till you achieve the size of grind you want.
32 Let the speed control return to 0.
33 Turn the mill anti-clockwise to unlock it, and lift it off the motor unit.
34 Turn the mill upside down.
35 Tap the mill a couple of times to move all the grounds into the bowl.
36 Unscrew the collar.
37 Remove the blade unit and seal.
38 Empty the bowl.

C CARE AND MAINTENANCE
