1
To turn on the hob, press down the button for at
least 2 seconds. An LED will illuminate above the
button.
An audible signal can be heard when you turn the hob on.
The display for each cook zone shows a 0. If the hob was
used recently and has not yet cooled down sufficiently,
the displays on the cook zones that are still hot will show
an H.
Select the cook zone you wish to use within 25
seconds by pressing the zones + or – buttons to turn
it on. The display on the selected cook zone lights up
and the special option LEDs for that cook zone are
illuminated and start to flash.
A cook zone will stay selected for 6 seconds during
which time the special option LEDs will keep flashing.
After that time you will have to re-select the cook
zone again by pressing + or – buttons then selecting
the special option.
If you do not select one of the cook zones within 25
seconds the hob will automatically switch off for safety
reasons.
IMPORTANT: the hob safety system includes an
automatic turn off function. The hob will turn off
automatically if it has been running continuously for 1
hour at maximum power, or running continuously for
6 hours at minimum power, or 6 hours when the
warming function has been selected.
For normal use of the hob, after selecting the cooking
zone, you can alter the power level by pressing the +
or – buttons, selecting a power level 1 to 9. If a
cooking zone is selected by pressing the – button,
then the highest power level (9) is automatically set.
Pressing both the + and – buttons together will
switch off the cook zone.
After turning off a cook zone, the display for the cook
zone will indicate that the zone is still hot with the
letter 'H'.
General use

This symbol stays on until the temperature of the hot
cook zone falls to a safe level.
If you turn the hob off, whilst the cooking zone is still
hot, the 'H' symbol will still be displayed until the zone
has cooled down.
If you wish to use the special options, shown by that
cook zone's LEDs press the corresponding button on
the special options strip. If you select an option that is
not available on that cook zone a short low noise will
be heard. The fast boil, warming, heat maintainance
and simmering options ( where included), are shown
on the cook zone's displays flashing in a clockwise
rotation.
The fast boil option is indicated on the display by
three horizontal segments that progressively light up
vertically.
If you want to change a special option, just select the
cook zone you want and press the button for the
desired special function.
General use
1. Pause option
The pause option lets you momentarily turn off the
cooking session underway, preventing food from
burning or liquids spilling out of pans as a result of
prolonged, undesired boiling. When you activate
the pause option, all the cook zones that are
operating are reduced to a maintenance
temperature that corresponds with the heat
maintenance special option.
Turning the pause option on and off
The pause option, can be turned on by pressing
. The option is active when the LED is
illuminated on the button. The displays on all the
cook zones show two vertical flashing strips. If the
warming option is already selected on a cooking
zone and the pause function is operated, the
power level of that zone will be set at the warming
option, as this is a more gentle heat than heat
maintainence.
Press the pause button again to remove the pause
option. The settings prior to the activation of the
pause function are restored, as if the pause button
had not been pressed. Any cooking times set prior
to activating the pause option will continue
counting the time including all the time the pause
option was on. The pause option turns off
automatically after 2 hours. NEVER LEAVE THE
COOKTOP UNATTENDED FOR WHATEVER
REASON, EVEN IF THE PAUSE OPTION IS ON.
2. 30 Seconds max option
The 30 second max. option allows you to cook at a
higher temperature for a limited period of time.
You cannot activate the 30 second max. option
when a cook zone is turned off, only after having
selected one of the levels from 1 to 9.
Turning the 30 second max. option on and off
Select a cooking zone by pressing the + or -
buttons for that cook zone. Press the button
on the special options strip. If you press the 30
second max button once you will set the option to
30 seconds. By pressing the button again you will
set the time to 60 seconds, and pressed further to
90 seconds. An illiminated horizontal segment
appears in the cook zone display for the 30
seconds, two segments will appear for 60 seconds
and three segments will appear for 90 seconds.
Once the option has been activated the a segment
will disappear every 30 seconds to show how
much time is left. To turn off this function press the
+ and – buttons together. Once the option has
either run out of time, or has been turned off the
cook zone will return to the previously selected
power level.
3. Child safety option
The child safety option completely deactivates the
hob to prevent children from using it.
Turning the child safety option on and off
The child safety option can be turned on by
pressing . The control is turned off except for
the child safety buttons and the on/off button.
The control is blocked at the point it was at before
the child safety option was turned on. Prior to the
child safety option being turned on, the levels or
special options set on the cook zones are frozen
and they cannot be changed.
If the child safety option is selected and all the cook
zones are not in use, the hob will be deactivated.
When the hob is switched back on the child safety
option will still be active. Hold down the
button for 3 seconds to turn it off. If there is a

power cut and the hob loses power, the child
safety option will be deactivated when the power
returns.
4. Simmering option

that the fast boil option should be used, then

boiling.
Turning the simmer option on and off

. The cook zone switched on, with or without
another special option selected. Press the + and –

temperature greater than 9 for a limited time. This
option allows you to minimise the time taken to
boil water.
Turning the fast boil option on and off
The option can be set on each cook zone that is
working either at a level or on a special option, by
pressing the button. The fast boil option can
only be used simultaneously on 2 cook zones, one
on the right and the other on the left.
IMPORTANT : depending on the levels set,
when this option is used together with
another cook zone, the hob may become
noisy.
IMPORTANT : when you select the fast boil option
on the large cook zone (210mm), the power in the
small front left cook zone will be automatically
reduced, allowing you to continue cooking. If
possible avoid using the front left cooking zone if

cooking zone.
Press the – button on the selected cook zone to
turn the option off, reducing the level of power, or
by pressing + and – simultaneously.

options strip. Select the time required by using the
timer strip + and – buttons. up to 99 minutes can

display on the timer strip will start to flash. Select a
cook zone by pressing the cook zone + or –
buttons, an LED in the timer display will illuminate
to show which zone has been selected. Enter the
time required using the timer strip + and –
buttons. After a few seconds, the display will stop
flashing and the programming is complete. At this
point you can programme another cook zone. All
the cook zones can be programmed seperately on
the timer.
The cook zones set on the timer are identified by
the illuminated LED above the timer symbol. The
illuminated LEDs at the top of the timer strip
display show which cook zone the time shown on
the display refers to.
Normally the time shown is the shortest
programmed time, by selecting a cook zone, the
display on the timer strip will show the time
relating to that cooking zone. Press the + and –
buttons simultaneously to interrupt the timing on a
cook zone.
