3 Get started

Always follow the instructions in this chapter

in sequence.

If you contact Philips, you will be asked for the

model and serial number of this apparatus.

Built-in battery

The unit can also operate on built-in

rechargeable battery.

- When in turn on the unit, the battery is at

low, the " " will blink.

To recharge the built-in battery:

Connect one end of the USB cable to the

2A socket on the unit.

Connect the other end of the USB cable to

the outlet (5V

2A).

- Charging in the unit, the " " will light on.

- The battery is full, the " " will light off.

Turn ON/OFF

Press the button to turn the unit on or off.

- The unit gives out the prompt sound.

- If no connect the AUX IN socket, the "

will blink.

To turn off the unit automatically:

4 Play

Play from a Bluetooth device

You can listen to a Bluetooth device through

this unit.

Press the button on the unit to select the

Bluetooth function.

- The "

" will blink for searching pairing

device.

- If no connect the AUX IN socket, the unit

will switched to Bluetooth function

automatically.

Activate the Bluetooth function in your

Bluetooth device (see the device user

manual).

Select "Philips VS500" on your device for

pairing.

- For elder devices, you need to input

“0000” as pairing password.

- The "

" is light on when connection

successful.

Start music play on your Bluetooth device.

To disconnected Bluetooth pairing:

- press and hold the button for 2 second

or more, the "

" will blink.

Play from an external device

You can listen to an external audio device

through this unit.

Connect the audio cable to the AUX IN

socket on the unit and the headphone jack

on an external device.

The unit will switch to

AUX IN

automatically.

device and then try again.

Troubleshooting

off automatically 15 minutes after no audio

signal (or no audio device connected).

No sound

• Adjustthevolume.

No response from the unit.

• Restarttheunit.

Music playback is unavailable on this

unit even after successful Bluetooth

connection.

- The device cannot be used to play music

through this unit wirelessly.

The audio quality is poor after

connection with a Bluetooth-enabled

device.

- The Bluetooth reception is poor. Move the

device closer to this unit or remove any

obstacle between them.
