IFM OT5001 is a diffuse-reflection sensor that detects objects and materials without contact and indicates their presence by a switched signal. With a standard range of max. 200mm and adjustable sensitivity, it is suitable for a variety of applications, such as:

  • detecting the presence of objects on a conveyor belt
  • monitoring the level of liquids in a tank
  • counting objects as they pass through a doorway

Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der Reflexlichttaster erfaßt berührungslos Gegenstände und
Materialien und meldet sie durch ein Schaltsignal.
Standard-Tastweite ("range") max. 200 mm; Empfindlichkeit einstell-
bar. (Werte bezogen auf weißes Papier 200 mm x 200 mm).
Montage
Richten Sie den Reflexlichttaster auf das zu erfassende Objekt aus und
montieren Sie ihn mit Hilfe einer Montagehalterung.
Die zu erfassenden Objekte sollten sich quer zur Geräteoptik bewegen.
Bei anderen Bewegungsrichtungen sollte vorher getestet werden, ob
sichere Funktion gewährleistet ist.
Elektrischer Anschluß
Schalten Sie die Anlage spannungsfrei. Schließen Sie das Gerät
nach den Angaben auf dem Typenschild an.
Adernfarben: BN = braun, BU = blau, BK = schwarz.

Betrieb
Prüfen Sie, ob das Gerät sicher funktioniert:
• Die grüne LED leuchtet, wenn Versorgungsspannung anliegt.
• Die gelbe LED leuchtet bei durchgeschaltetem Ausgang.
Wartung: Halten Sie die Linsen des Geräts von Verschmutzung frei.
Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung keine Lösungsmittel oder Reiniger, die
die Kunststofflinsen beschädigen könnten.

Functions and features
The diffuse-reflection sensor detects objects and materials without
contact and indicates their presence by a switched signal.
Standard range: max. 200mm; sensitivity adjustable. (Values referred
to white paper 200mm x 200mm).
Installation
Align the photocell and fasten it to a mounting device.
The objects to be detected are to move tranversally to the lens of the
unit. In case of other directions of movement it should be tested befo-
re whether safe functioning is guaranteed.
Electrical connection
Disconnect power before connecting the sensor.
Connection strictly to the indications on the type label;<R>core
colours: BN = brown, BU = blue, BK = black.

Operation
Check the safe functioning of the through-beam sensor.
• The green LED is lit when the supply voltage is applied.
• The yellow LED is lit when the output is switched.
Maintenance: Keep the lens of the sensor free from soiling.
For cleaning do not use any solvents or cleaning agents which could
damage the plastic lenses.

Fonctionnement et caractéristiques
Le système réflexion directe détecte des objets et matières sans contact
et indique leur présence par un signal de commutation.
Portée standard max. 200 mm; sensibilité réglable. (Valeurs sur du
papier blanc 200 mm x 200 mm).
Montage
Orienter le système réflexion directe en direction de l'objet à détecter
et le fixer avec une équerre de fixation.
Le mouvement des objets à détecter doit être transversal par rapport à
la lentille de la cellule. En cas d'autres directions de mouvement on
devrait préalablement vérifier le bon fonctionnement.
Raccordement électrique
Mettre l’installation hors tension avant le raccordement de la
cellule optoélectronique.
Raccordement strictement selon les indications de l’étiquette.
Couleurs des fils: BN = brun, BU = bleu, BK = noir.

Fonctionnement
Vérifier le bon fonctionnement de la cellule.
• La LED verte est allumée lorsque la tension d’alimentation est
appliquée.
• La LED jaune est allumée lorsque la sortie est commutée.
Entretien: Les lentilles de la cellule doivent être dégagées de tout
encrassement. Pour le nettoyage ne pas utiliser de solvants ou de pro-
duits qui pourraient abîmer les lentilles en plastique.
