YOUR SHARK® PROFESSIONAL CANISTER IS EASY
TO ASSEMBLE
:
1 Place your vacuum canister on a level surface.
DO NOT plug in the vacuum until it is fully
assembled.
2 Insert the flexible hose (A) into the air intake duct.
Push it in until you hear it “click“, indicating that it
is locked in place (Fig. 1).
3 Insert the telescoping extension tube (B) onto the
handle end of the flexible hose (Fig. 1).
4 Push the end of the extension tube into the air
turbine floor nozzle (C) or the floor brush (D)
(Fig. 1).
5 The crevice and upholstery tools are stored on the
top of the vacuum behind the air intake duct
(Fig. 2).

1 To extend the power cord, pull it from the rear
of the vacuum to the desired length (Fig. 3). A
yellow mark on the power cord shows the ideal
cable length.
CAUTION: DO NOT pull the power cord beyond
the red mark on the power cord as this will
damage the cord.
2 Plug the vacuum into an electrical wall outlet.
3 Press the On/Off Button to the “On” position to
begin. (Fig. 4)
4 Press the On/Off Button to the “Off” position
when finished using the vacuum.
Using the Vacuum
5 To retract the power cord, press the cord rewind
button. (Fig. 5) If the cord does not fully retract,
pull it out a little and then press the rewind button
again.
WARNING: Always hold the plug and DO NOT
allow to whip when rewinding.
6 To store the canister vacuum, insert the clip that is
on the back of the air turbine floor nozzle or floor
brush into the slot on the back of the vacuum.

Manual Suction Control
7 The Shark® Professional Canister Vacuum includes
a quick manual suction control on the handle of
the hose. The suction power can be adjusted by
moving the slide regulator to the desired position.
(Fig. 7) By opening the slide regulator, the suction
will be reduced for vacuuming upholstery and
draperies easily. With the slide regulator closed,
you get maximum suction for vacuuming carpets.
Variable Suction Control
8 For bigger cleaning jobs across all surfaces, the
Shark® Professional Canister also features a
variable suction control located on the canister.
Slide the knob from side to side to change the
level of suction. An indicator light displays the
amount of suction while in use (Fig. 8).

Using the Floor Brush
9 The floor brush can be used to vacuum both
carpets and bare floors. To vacuum carpets, press
the pedal down towards the front of the floor
brush (Fig. 9). This will lift the bristles on the floor
brush. If the suction is too strong, you can reduce
it by adjusting the manual suction control on the
handle of the hose. To vacuum bare floors, press
the pedal down towards the back of the floor
brush (Fig. 10).

Using the Accessories
Using the Accessories:
The accessories can be attached to the telescoping
wand for greater reach or directly on to the handle.
1 Remove the air turbine floor nozzle or floor brush
from the extension wand and then depending on
the length that you desire, just push it into the end
of the extension wand or the handle. (Fig. 11)

Maintenance
Replacing the Dust Bag:
1 Press the On/Off Button to the “Off” position.
2 Remove the flexible hose from the vacuum by
squeezing the locking tabs on the neck of the hose
and pulling it out. (Fig. 14)
3 Place your fingers underneath the opening
indentation behind the vacuum handle and lift the
top cover up. (Fig. 15)
4 Hold the cardboard collar of the dust bag and
gently pull the dust bag out. (Fig. 16)
5 Holding the cardboard collar, insert a new dust bag
into the slots of the dust bag holder. (Fig. 17)
Make sure that the dust bag is inserted FULLY into
the slots of the dust bag holder.
6 Close the top cover of the vacuum.
Cleaning Air Turbine Floor Nozzle:
1 Detach the air turbine floor nozzle from the end
of the telescopic tube. Turn it over and using your
thumb and index finger, squeeze the locking tabs
on either side of the turbine cover and lift off.
Remove any debris found inside (Fig. 12)
.
2 Inspect the rotating brush and carefully remove,
without damaging the bristles, any build-up of hair
or string wrapped around the rotating bristle brush
with scissors (Fig. 13).

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of shock, the power
cord must be disconnected before removing or
inserting the dust bag.
Cleaning the Pre-Motor Filter:
1 Press the On/Off Button to the “Off” position.
2 Open the top cover and pull the pre-motor filter
straight out. (Fig. 18)
3 Wash the filter in lukewarm water and allow to air
dry completely for 24 hours.
4 Slide a dry pre-motor into position between the
two posts and the motor intake.

To Reset the Motor Thermostat:
Your Shark® Professional Canister vacuum is equipped
with a protective Motor Thermostat. If the motor should
overheat, the thermostat shuts off the power.
1 Press the Power Button to turn the unit “Off”.
2 Unplug the vacuum.
3 Check for clogged hose or filter; unclog hose and
replace filter.
4 Wait 45 minutes for vacuum to cool; then plug in
the vacuum.
5 Press the Power Switch to start the vacuum.
Note: If vacuum still does not start, contact Customer
Service at: 1-800-798-7398.

1 Placez le traîneau de votre aspirateur sur une
surface plane.
NE BRANCHEZ PAS l’aspirateur tant que celui-ci
n’est pas entièrement assemblé.
2 Insérez le boyau flexible (A) dans la conduite
d’entrée d’air. Poussez jusqu’à ce que vous
entendiez un déclic indiquant qu’il est bien inséré.
(Fig. 1).
3 Fixez le manche téléscopique (B) au manche du
boyau flexible. (Fig. 1).
4 Poussez l’extrémité du manche télescopique à
l’intérieur de la brosse rotative (C) ou de la brosse
à planchers dur (D) (Fig. 1).
5 Le suceur plat et l’accessoire pour capitonnage
sont rangés sur le dessus de l’aspirateur à l’arrière
du conduit d’aspiration (Fig. 2).

1 Pour dérouler le cordon d’alimentation, tirez-le
à partir de l’arrière de l’aspirateur à la longueur
désirée. (Fig. 3) La marque jaune sur le cordon
d’alimentation indique la longueur idéale.
MISE EN GARDE: NE TIREZ PAS sur le cordon
d’alimentation plus loin que la marque rouge,
puisque cela pourrait l’endommager.
2 Branchez l’aspirateur dans une prise de courant
murale.
3 Poussez le bouton d’alimentation marche/arrêt
(on/off) à la position de marche «ON» pour
débuter. (Fig. 4)
4 Poussez le bouton d’alimentation marche/
arrêt (on/off) à la position d’arrêt «OFF» pour
l’éteindre.
5 Pour rembobiner le cordon d’alimentation,
appuyez sur le bouton de rembobinage (Fig. 5).
Si le cordon ne se rétracte pas complètement,
ressortez-le et appuyez de nouveau sur le bouton
de rembobinage.
MISE EN GARDE : Veuillez toujours tenir la fiche
d’alimentation du cordon. NE LAISSEZ PAS le
cordon fouetter lors du rembobinage.
6 Pour ranger l’aspirateur-traîneau, insérez l’agrafe

Commande d’aspiration manuelle
7 L’aspirateur-traîneau professionnel de SharkMD
comprend une commande d’aspiration manuelle
sur la poignée du boyau. Cette commande peut
être ajustée en glissant le commutateur à la
position désirée. (Fig. 7) Ouvrez le commutateur
coulissant afin de réduire l’aspiration lorsque vous
passez l’aspirateur sur des meubles rembourrés
ou des rideaux. Fermez le commutateur coulissant
afin d’obtenir l’aspiration maximale pour nettoyer
les tapis.
Commande d’aspiration variable
8 Pour les travaux de nettoyage plus exigeants pour
tous les types de surfaces, l’aspirateur-traîneau
professionnel SharkMD comporte une commande
d’aspiration variable, située sur le capot. Faites
glisser le commutateur d’un côté à l’autre pour
modifier la puissance de succion. Le témoin
lumineux indique la puissance de succion en cours
d’utilisation (Fig. 8).

9 Il est possible de nettoyer des planchers et des
tapis avec la brosse à planchers. Pour nettoyer les
tapis, enfoncez la pédale vers l’avant de la brosse
à planchers (Fig.9). Cela soulèvera les poils de
la brosse pour les éloigner du sol. Lorsque la
succion est trop forte, il est possible de la réduire
à l’aide de la commande d’aspiration manuelle sur
la poignée du boyau. Pour nettoyer les planchers
nus, déplacez la pédale en l’orientant vers l’arrière
de la brosse à planchers (Fig.10).

Il est possible de fixer les accessoires directement dans
la poignée ou au manche télescopique pour une plus
grande portée.
1 Retirez la brosse à planchers ou la brosse rotative
activée à l’air du manche télescopique. Ensuite,
selon la portée désirée, enfoncez l’accessoire pour
le fixer à la poignée ou au manche télescopique
(Fig. 11).

Entretien
Remplacement du sac à poussière :
1 Mettez le bouton d’alimentation à la position
d’arrêt «OFF».
2 Enlevez le boyau flexible de l’aspirateur en
pressant les onglets de verrouillage situés sur le
cou du boyau et tirez-le. (Fig. 14)
3 Placez vos doigts sous l’ouverture d’indentation
située à l’arrière de la poignée de l’aspirateur et
soulevez le couvercle supérieur. (Fig. 15)
4 Tenez le collet en carton du sac à poussière et tirez-
le doucement pour le sortir. (Fig. 16)
5 En tenant le collet en carton, installez un nouveau
sac à poussière à l’intérieur des fentes du
compartiment . (Fig. 17)
6 Refermez le couvercle de l’aspirateur.
Entretien de la brosse rotative activée à l’air :
1 Détachez la brosse de plancher rotative de
l’extrémité du manche télescopique. Retournez
la et avec votre pouce et votre index, pressez
les loquets de chaque côté du couvercle de la
turbine pour le soulever. Retirez tous les débris se
trouvants à l’intérieur (Fig. 12)
.
2 Inspectez la brosse rotative et en prenant de ne pas
endommager les soies enlever toute accumulation
de cheveux, poils d’animaux ou autre fils qui se
sont enroulés autour de la brosse à l’aide d’un
cisauux (Fig. 13).
