Look at the LEDs (lights)
The DSL light blinks and then stays on when a DSL connection is detected. The
ETHERNET light turns on if your computer is properly connected to the P-660W-Tx v2
using the Ethernet cable. When you connect the power, the POWER light blinks and stays
on once the device is ready.
VCheck your connections if the POWER or ETHERNET light does not turn on. If
this doesn’t help, disconnect the P-660W-Tx v2 from its power source, wait for
a few seconds and turn it back on.
2 Configure the P-660W-Tx v2 for Internet Access
You may configure the P-660W-Tx v2 for Internet access in one of these ways:
Use Zero Configuration to set up your Internet connection automatically in section 2.1.
If Zero Configuration does not detect your Internet access settings, use the Connection
Wizard to configure Internet access settings in section 2.2.
2.1 Set up Internet Access with Zero Configuration
Launch your web browser and navigate to any website (for example, www.zyxel.com). The
P-660W-Tx v2 automatically detects and configures your Internet connection. This may
take about two minutes.
If you have a PPPoE or PPPoA
connection, a screen displays
prompting you to enter your
Internet account information.
Enter the user name, password
and/or service name exactly as
provided. Click Apply.

doesn’t help, check your web browser’s security settings. See the appendix
in the User’s Guide for more suggestions. If you’ve forgotten the password,
see the User’s Guide for instructions on using the RESET button.
3 Change the password and click Apply.
4 In the Site Map

2.2.2 Configure Internet Access and Local Network Settings with the
Connection Wizard
Use the Connection Wizard to set up access to the Internet through your ISP. These are
your WAN (wide area network) settings. Then use the Connection Wizard to set up the
connection from your computer to the P-660W-Tx v2. These are your LAN (local area
network) settings.
" Enter the Internet access information given to you by your ISP exactly in
each wizard screen. Follow the instructions in this guide or leave the field
blank or at its default setting. Click Next to continue or click Back to return
to the previous screen. Screen information is not saved when you click
Back. If your connection times out, log back in and restart the Wizard.
1 From the Mode drop-down list box, select
Routing if your P-660W-Tx v2 is a gateway
between the Internet and your local network and
you need routing features such as NAT (Network
Address Translation) or a firewall. Select Bridge
if your P-660W-Tx v2 is on a private network
behind a router, and you do not need routing
features such as NAT or a firewall.
2 Configure your Encapsulation, Multiplex and
other settings based on the settings your ISP
provides you.
Bridge
If you selected Bridge and RFC 1483 in the previous screen, go to step 3 in this section.
If you selected Bridge in step 1 of this sec-
tion and PPPoA, the following screen
appears. Type your User Name and Pass-
word. Select Nailed-Up Connection to set
a permanent connection which automatically
reconnects on disconnection. Select Con-
nect on Demand to allow connection only
when required and with an idle time-out
period (in seconds) in the Max. Idle Timeout
field. Click Next.

Name and Password.
PPPoE, PPPoA, ENET: Select
Obtain an IP Address Automati-

5 Check your WAN and LAN settings in the screen that
appears. Click Change LAN Configuration to configure
the P-660W-Tx v2 for your local area network (LAN) and

your LAN, such as a router, already allocates IP
addresses, or devices on your LAN have static
IP addresses. Go to step 8 of this section.
Otherwise, if the P-660W-Tx v2 is to allocate IP
addresses on your LAN, enable the DHCP
Server. Computers on your LAN will then need
to be set to receive an IP address automatically.
See the User’s Guide for more information on
configuring this.
7 If you enable the DHCP Server, ensure the Client IP Pool Starting Address is on the
same domain as your LAN IP Address (that is, the first three parts of the IP addresses
are the same). If you were given DNS Server settings, type them here. Otherwise leave
the default settings.
8 Click Finish to save your settings and go to step 9 of this section. Otherwise, click Back
to check your settings as in step 5 of this section.
" If you change the P-660W-Tx v2’s LAN IP address, you must use the new
IP address if you want to access the web configurator again.
