Safety Instructions
!
WARNING:
Primary side of the power supply unit circuit is connected
to the AC line.
For continued product safety and protection of personnel
injury, servicing should be made with qualified personnel.
The following precautions must be observed.
Fuse for circuit protection
The fuse is located in a smoke resistant unit.(2 places)
(Fuse-A is not in POA-SP-SU30 .)
When either the LAMP indicator or the READY indicator is not illuminated,
fuse may be opened. Check the fuse as following steps.
1. Remove the Cabinet-top following to "mechanical disassemblies".
2. Remove the fuse from fuse holder or PWB.
3.Check the resistance of fuse using a tester.
Fuse-A
UNIT SW-POWER SUPPLY
1: An isolation transformer should be connected in the
power line between the projector and the AC line
before any service is performed on the projector.
2: Comply with all caution and safety-related notes pro-
vided on the cabinet back, cabinet bottom, inside the
cabinet or on the chassis.
3: When replacing a chassis in the cabinet, always be
certain that all the protective devices are installed
properly, such as, control knobs, adjustment covers
or shields, barriers, etc.
DO NOT OPERATE THIS SMOKE RESISTANT UNIT
WITHOUT THE PROTECTIVE SHIELD IN POSITION
AND PROPERLY SECURED.
4: Before replacing the cabinet cover, thoroughly
inspect the inside of the cabinet to see that no stray
parts or tools have been left inside.
Before returning any Smoke Resistant Unit to the cus-
tomer, the service personnel must be sure it is com-
pletely safe to operate without danger of electric shock.

PRODUCT SAFETY NOTICE
SERVICE PERSONNEL WARNING
Product safety should be considered when a compo-
nent replacement is made in any area of the projector.
Components indicated by mark in the parts list and
the schematic diagram designate components in which
safety can be of special significance. It is, therefore,
particularly recommended that the replacement of the
parts must be made by exactly the same parts.
Eye damage may result from directly viewing the light
produced by the Lamp used in this equipment. Always
turn off Lamp before opening cover.
Since the lamp is very high temperature during units
operation. Replacement of the lamp should be done at
least 45 minutes after the power has been turned off,
to allow the lamp cool-off.
Refer to the owner's manual and service manual of the
LCD Projector.

Disassemble should be made following procedures in numerical order.
Following steps show the basic procedures, therefore unnecessary step may be ignored.
Caution:
The parts and screws should be placed exactly the same position as the original otherwise it may cause
lose of performance and product safety.
Before disassemblies
When disassemblies a cabinet, always turn off the
Projector and Smoke Resistant Unit.
Confirm that the temperature of Projector cool-off and
implement disassembly.
It removes the connection of the signal cable,AC power
cord and each cables the projector.
CABINET BACK REMOVAL.
Hold the upper surface of the Cabinet- back, and remove
in the direction of the arrow while pressing down.
Note;
Be careful not to damage Hook.
The cabinet-back is being fixed with cabinet top by hook.
Ensure that there is nothing protecting from the table
underneath the Smoke Resistant Unit which may harm the
lower surface and in turn cause damage to the indicator.

Remove AC power cord.
Draw out a few LCD Projector, and remove a Ac power
cord.
Remove AC power cord from LCD Projector.
Remove LCD Projector.
LCD Projector
Take out LCD Projector from Smoke Resistant Unit.

CABINET FRONT REMOVAL.
Remove 3 screws which are fixing a Front Panel.
Two projections fixing hock the front panel are provided
on the inside of the bottom surface of the Smoke
Resistant Unit both at distances of 136mm from the
sides of the unit. Pull the front panel towards yourself in
a directions at which the projections are located
upwards from below, so as to remove the front panel.
CAUTION:
Do not tilt the front panel when pulling it to remove
it, as this may damage the projections which will
make it impossible to put the front panel back on
again.

FAN.
FAN and COVER DUCT-CR remove at the same time.
2. Remove 4 screws-B, and remove UNIT, SW-POWER,
SUPPLY.
1. Remove 2 screws-A, and remove socket inlet AC.
2. Remove 2 screws-B, and remove 8pin DIN socket.
3. Remove 4 screws-C, and remove UNIT MAIN.
4. Remove 2 screws-D, and remove UNIT VARISTOR.

AIR FILTER REPLACEMENT
Panel Filter
When replacing the Air Filter, follow these steps to reset the timer that measures the Air Filter
usage time. When replacing the Air Filter, make sure that the Power to the Projector is off, and
check that the Power to the Smoke Resistant Unit is on.
1 Hold the bottom of the Panel FIlter and pull it up. Open the Cover to a 90-degree angle.
2 Remove the Used Air Filter.
3 Press the Reset Switch until the FILTER REPLACE
indicator starts flashing.
4 Take your finger off the Reset Switch within 5 sec-
onds of the Indicator starting to flash. If you do not
take your finger off the Reset Switch within 5 sec
onds, the timer reset operation can not be completed.
In that case, repeat the steps from Step 3.
Air Filter
RESET SWITCH
When replacing an AIR FILTER, replace with a specified Air Filter. A replacement Air Filter can be ordered through
your dealer. When ordering the Air Filter, give the following information to the dealer.
Replacement Air Filter type No. : POA-FIL-SU30
(AIR FILTER FOR SMOKE RESISTANT UNIT)
Smoke Resistant Unit type No. : POA-SP-SU30 or POA-SP-SU31

5 Keep pressing the Reset Switch until the FILTER
REPLACE Indicator starts flashing.
7 Insert a New Air Filter.
Air Filter replacement and timer reset are now com-
pleted.
6 Take your finger off the Reset Switch within 5 sec
onds of the Indicator starting to flash. If you do not
take your finger off the Reset Switch within 5 sec
onds, the timer reset operation can not be completed.
In that case, repeat the steps from Step 3.

CAUTION: Use an approved Air Filter when replacing the Air Filter. If a nonapproved Air Filter is
used, it may result in malfunction of the projector.

1. Pull up the Lamp Cover.
2. Remove the Lamp Cover of the Projector using a screw driver.
Note ; Lamp replacement refer to the Owner's Manual of Projector.

t FILTER REPLACE - - - - - This light turns YELLOW when the Air Filter of the Smoke Resistant Unit should be
replaced.
y OUTER BOX - - - - - - - - - This light turns RED if there is an abnormality with the Smoke Resistant Unit Fan.
Note: For details of displays to , please refer to the Projector Owner's Manual.
Removing or inserting the AC Power Cord will cause a reset.
The indicators display the states ( q to r ) of the Projector and the states ( t, y ) of the Smoke Resistant Unit
as lights or flashing lights.
Smoke Resistant Unit and LCD Projector do not have the mains SW.
It will be in the state of standby inserting a AC power cord.
(The indicator of LAMP, READY light turns)
Use remote control to turn on the LCD Projector.

TROUBLESHOOTING

TRY THESE SOLUTIONS
Check of the fuse.
Connection check of the AC Power Cord.
Check of a FAN reset switch.
Check of Filter.(Is not it above dirty)
Check that FAN is operating normally.
Ensure that the power is turned on. Ensure that LAMP Indicator light is ON.
When the READY Indicator (green) is off, the power source is not turned on, even if the power
ON-OFF button of the remote controller has been pressed.
Check WARNING TEMP or OUTER BOX Indicator. If this Indicator is lit or flashing red, the inner
temperature is extremely high and the projector cannot be turned on even if the ON-OFF button
of the remote controller is pressed.
Wait until the temperature becomes lower.
TRY THESE SOLUTIONS
Check the Filter-MR(front glass) to see, if it needs cleaning.
If glass becomes dirty, picture will be affected, and operation of remote control may be
affected.
Check the focus of LCD projector.
YELLOW INDICATOR TURNED ON
TRY THESE SOLUTIONS
When the life of the Lamp draws to an end, the LAMP REPLACE Indicator will light yellow.
The FILTER REPLACE turns yellow when it is necessary to replace the Air Filter of the Smoke
Resistant Unit .
Smoke Resistant Unit has controlled operation of LCD Projector, FAN and Air Filter.
Therefore, when the trouble occurs to picture, sound and so on.
Take out LCD Projector from Smoke Resistant Unit and check LCD Projector.
Refer to service manual of LCD Projector.
