Belvedere Italian Prestige Floating Turntable
Congratulations
Thank you for having purchased a BLUENOTE® product.
Introduction
With BLUENOTE® products you enter a new dimension.
BLUENOTE® is the new way of listening to music. BLUENOTE® is a
range of products of prestigious and sophisticated Italian design
featuring unique and innovative technical and aesthetic characteristics.
The materials used for the BLUENOTE® turntables are of the highest
quality and they are all assembled and tested by hand, one by one. No
photos or technical descriptions can adequately convey the quality of
BLUENOTE® turntables or the pride of owning one.
The turntable boards are made entirely from skillfully crafted sheets of black polished acrylic. The platter itself is in extruded
acrylic “tuned” by an amazing 9 counterweights in gold plated brass. The pivots and bearing are made in aluminum brass
and de-coupled stainless steel with Teflon®. All the applied details are in 6082 aluminum alloy or gold plated brass and all
are turned from solid blocks. The tailor-made belt is manufactured from a special low-stretch (35/40%) resin which allows for
maintaining the typical advantages of turntables with belt drives but also allows for adding characteristics of drive speed and
power that cannot be reached with conventional turntables. The synchronous motor is made to 24 pole specifications for
further enhancing the performance.
In a word, the Bluenote® ® range sets a new standard of reference in the turntable category.

Construction features
This section describes the special features of the BELVEDERE turntable, the construction features, the reasons for the technical choices and
the originality of the design.
- BELVEDERE is a floating on Harmonic Iron springs turntable that, like all the turntables of the Bluenote-Villa line, uses a board made in
black high -density polished acrylic obtained via “polymeric melting”, as a main support for the platter and arm and a transparent board,
also in acrylic, as the board support where the motor cylinder and support feet are housed.
- The black board is fully curved for increasing the structural rigidity and non-deformable properties.
- The Transparent board has 3 machine worked aluminium height-adjustable feet with a semi-conical shape with central grooving for
ensuring greater insensitivity to vibrations. Each foot has a recessed spike may be used to couple rigidly the turntable on its shelf.
- The turntable platter is in “extruded” Sustarin®, an even ‘deafer’ material that cannot be polished but is ideal for the intended use. Below
the platter are 9 gold-plated brass weights, which increase the peripheral inertia of the platter and thus further improve the rotational
regularity and stability.
- The spindle is probably the best the market has to offer today. 60 mm long (one of the longest spindles in existence), it is made with top-
of-the-range materials and machined with CNC lathes, than rectified to achieve super high-level tolerances. A large longitudinal groove is
located on its axis, which allows the lubricating oil to run in constant manner.
- The longer spindle eradicates any pendulum effect and distributes the inertial energy along its entire axis, completely annulling any type of
lateral friction.
- When the turntable is new the spindle will tend to “clean” any residual dirt in the bearing (which no preventive cleaning is capable of
completely removing). In this way even the tiniest residual friction built up after only a few dozen hours operation will be completely
eliminated.
- The bearing that houses the spindle is made entirely in bronze and has a screw in WHITE ARNITE® located on the bottom that allows for:
- Perfect coupling.
- Adjustment of the VTA carried out directly on the turntable board!!
- The possibility of eliminating virtually every type of friction that could build up during the years with conventional
bearing/spindles.
- Moreover, the bearing is threaded on the outside (the only one of its kind) in order to be tightly anchored to the board of the turntable on
its own axis. This allows avoiding the use of glue and anchoring screws that would lock the bearing out of alignment and prevent a fully
rigid and precise coupling.
- The bearing is locked onto a brass ring support specially designed to obtain a perfect plane and at the same time it decouples from the
turntable board.
- The clamp (not screwed) that weighs 300 grams and is made in anodised aluminium has been chosen thanks to its excellent sound
performance.
- The motor, which is AC (synchronous) 24 pole with an extremely high coupling coefficient and very low noise, is moved by a custom
made capacitor. The motor that has a 3 mm stainless steel spindle is directly coupled onto the acrylic board thru a special brass system of
rings able to reduce vibrations at its best.
- The pulley is made in DELRING/ALUMINUM and need to be pushed/locked with Allen bolts onto the motor spindle.
- N.B.: acrylic and Sustarin® (That is an acetamide polymer) are inert, especially rigid materials which makes them ideal for absorbing
vibrations. With their extremely elevated technical and sound characteristics these materials are easily subjected to small surface scratches.
Particular care must therefore be paid to clean the platter and the turntable with a very soft cloth. Avoid the use of any type of solvent.
Despite not making use of mats, the platter will not ruin new vinyl records and creates a perfect coupling with it.

Unpacking & Assembly
This section describes how to assemble and install your BELVEDERE turntable. The instructions are purely descriptive and necessarily generic.
If you have any doubts or difficulties with this procedure please contact your retailer who will know how to assist you:
1) Open all the cartons inside the main box and look that all the components listed in the “content section” are present.
2) Screw down the three threaded bars in the specific holes of the transparent acrylic board. The 2 made of brass bars must be housed in
the front holes, the Stainless steel one in the rear holes. The threaded bars must protrude from underneath the transparent acrylic
board about 10 mm.
3) Screw up the silver anodised aluminium feet on the threaded bars onto the lower part of the transparent acrylic base.
4) Insert the silver anodised aluminium threaded-bar covering tubes into the threaded bars on the upper part of the transparent acrylic
board.
5) Screw up the bolt shaped spring supports with the faced up (bolt shape) onto the head of the threaded bars and fit the conical springs
onto them. The eventual red marked spring must be positioned on the rear support.
6) Install the bronze bearing inside the centric hole on the round aluminium board located on the shaped black acrylic board and anchor
it tightly with the bolt supplied.
7) Gently lay the black acrylic board onto the pre-installed springs finding the perfect centring inside the holes of the board itself.
8) The cylinder motor must be inserted into the hole of the black board and locked onto the transparent board using the stainless steel
screw supplied thru the present slot. The screw MUST NOT be tightened by force in order to prevent the transparent board from
breaking. Position the switch in the most accessible place for being turned on and off (typically left side).
9) Pass the power supply cable of the motor through the specific hole located on the transparent board and connect the motor and the
AC plug to the wall.
10) Press down the self-centring Delrin pulley until it fits into the motor shaft. It is important to press it in a vertical direction not too
firmly. Take care not to knock the pulley board against the motor body.
11) Get the 2 parts Carbon Steel Platter Spindle and the Sustarin® Platter.
12) Clamp the Platter into the 2 parts Carbon Steel Platter Spindle screwing out the tip part of the Platter Spindle, inserting the larger
part into the centric hole of the Platter (bottom side) and re-screwing down the Tip of the Spindle into the Platter till the clamping
effect is very strong.
13) Wet, just a little, the Platter Spindle part gets into the Bronze Bearing with the oil supplied and push it down, very gently, into the
Platter Bronze Bearing screwed on the Turntable board.
14) Before spinning the Platter pay extreme attention to adjust properly (also as you like most aesthetically) the height of the platter by
moving the head bolt shaped ARNITE white screw at the bottom of the Platter bronze bearing. Please Note: the ARNITE screw,
even though is treated with a high density silicon grease to seal the threaded grooves, can leak a little oil once the spindle is inserted
in the bronze bearing due to the super air pressure create because the very strict tolerances between the Spindle & the Bearing.
Eventually simply clean up the excesses oil. Once the Spindle finds the right internal position the oil may not leak any more.
15) Once the Platter/Spindle is positioned properly (this operation may take some time due to the very strict tolerance in between the
Platter Spindle & Bronze Bearing), wrap the Belt supplied around the Polyvinyl Platter and the Pulley, in the wanted speed position:
Upper smaller pulley groove is 33-1/3rpm and lower larger pulley groove is 45rpm.
16) To finish this assembly operation level the black acrylic board to a perfect flat position and connect the AC plug.
17) The Belvedere is supplied with a tonearm collar and an adaptor to be used with several units (including all Bluenote tonearms). Ask
your dealer for better info.

Installation procedure
This section describes how to install your BELVEDERE. The instructions are purely descriptive and necessarily generic.
- Always take care when positioning the device, which, within the possible limits of your listening environments, should be on a solid and
firm board in an area allowed by air circulation.
- The turntable is supplied in series with 3 height-adjustable anodised aluminium supports that act as the anti-vibrating feet. By laying the
BELVEDERE on different shelves the sound characteristics may be different. We recommend high mass support boards not affected by
external vibrations trying to choose the best solution, which also fits in with your needs.
- Before carrying out the installation it will be necessary to level the turntable platter even using a simple sprit level. The 3 feet only
facilitate the positioning and allow the best possible coupling with the supporting board.
- The belt supplied must be positioned on the external perimeter of the platter. Check that the speed is perfect. Even though Pulleys and
Platters, have a centesimal precision the electrical power supply in your country may have output variations of the AC frequency (50 Hz
or 60 Hz) that slightly alter the rotation speed of the AC synchronous motors. In this case you’d need our adjustable aluminium pulley, or
a controlled external AC power supply (both available in most countries as optional)
N.B.: The speed variation tolerances, even in the case of your current supplier provides an incorrect frequency, are extremely small, therefore
any variations always constant) would be limited. A frequency computerised generator (optional) or a motor pulley with a variable diameter
(supplied) would be necessary in this case. Less than 2% variations are completely un -hearable by human ears.
Positioning the Belvedere
Your BELVEDERE turntable has been designed for sheltered Hi-Fi systems. It must be protected from any eventual variations in temperature
and humidity. Avoid using in the vicinity of radiators or other strong heat sources, electrical and electronic motors, switched on mobile phones
etc.
The location in proximity of other audio components is not theoretically critical, but you should nevertheless pay attention to this.
The levelling and positioning on a solid, firm board, as explained in the previous chapter, are fundamental elements to ensure the maximum
sonic performances.
Installation & Positioning 7

Operating conditions
Once you have connected the power supply cable to an AC current power plug as well as the cable supplied with the tonearm that you will
previously have installed and connected, your BELVEDERE will be ready to use.
PLEASE NOTE.: Check that the correct acceptance voltage is indicated on your turntable. Incorrect voltage will prevent your
BELVEDERE from working properly and could risk causing irreparable damage.
WARNING: Never turn on the turntable while any parts are disassembled as contact with the high voltage inside the
BELVEDERE turntable could be fatal.
33 1/3 rpm or 45 rpm
By positioning the belt in the smaller groove of the synchronous pulley motor, the BELVEDERE turntable be set at 33 1/3 rpm, while in the
larger groove it will be set at 45 rpm. This positioning must be carried out manually.
The pulley may be covered by a Jewellery Gold Plated cover available as optional.
Turning on
The On/Off switch is located on the silver anodised motor cylinder screwed to the transparent acrylic board. Once the switch has been turned to
ON (1) the turntable will start working at the speed hand selectioned.
