INSTALLATION
1. CutCopper,PEXorCPVCtubesquare,round
andfreeofburrs.Ifsharpedgesarenot
removed,connectionmayleak.Makesure
stub-outlengthwillaccommodatedepthof
stopandange.
2.
Marktube:ifG2PC,thanmark1-1/8”fromend.
IfG2PS,thenmark1”fromend.Pushvalve
ontotubeasfaraspossible,atleasttoline
markingontubeisreached.Tubeinsertwill
selfalignintubing.
REMOVAL
1. Withwaterpressureoffandsystem
depressurized,besuretoremovesupplyline
anddrainanyremainingwaterfromtube.
2. Removelockingclip.
3. Positionstoprmlyinpalmasshown.
Withtwongers,depress
removalangeback
towardsstopandpullfromtubing.
4. Beforere-installing
stop,insertlockingclip
betweenremovalangeandstopbody.
CAUTION:
• FAILURE TO PUSH VALVE TO MARK MAY
RESULT IN A LEAK.
• DO NOT USE ANY PLUMBER’S PUTTY,
PIPE THREAD TAPE, OR OTHER SEALANT TO
CONNECT VALVE.
• IF G2 1/4 TURN VALVE INSTALLATION, DO NOT
SWEAT WITHIN 12 INCHES OF THE VALVE.
• ONLY INSERT COPPER, PEX OR CPVC TUBING
INTO THE VALVE.
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE TUBE SUPPORT.
SLIP-JOINT OUTLET
Be sure to shut off water before starting.
NOTE: Do not use pipe compound on
slip-jointthreads.
1. Besuretubeisnotattened
out-of-roundandallburrsare
removed.Iftubeisovalor
out-of-round,donotrelyonthenut
tocorrect.Bringintoshapebefore
tighteningnut.Replacetubeifit
isgrooved,pockedorscarred
asabrasionspreventagoodseal.
2. Slideslip-jointnut,frictionringand
conewasherontotube.
3. Besuretubeislinedupwithvalve
soitentersstraightand“bottoms”
true.Ifcockedortilted,nutwillnot
seatproperlyandcouldeventually
developaleak.
4. Tightennut,wrenchtighten.DONOTOVERTIGHTEN.Usetapetoprotectthenish.
5. Turnonmainwatersupply.Turnonvalvecounterclockwise.Ifslip-jointnutleaks,
turnoffwatersupply.Backoff(loosen)nutcompletely,realignandretighten.
DONOTOVERTIGHTENasthiscouldleadtofuturefailure.

COPPER COMPRESSION OUTLET
Be sure to shut off water before starting.
1. Cuttherisertubetolengthsoitbottomsoutinthestop.
2. Placecompressionnutandsleeve
ontothecoppertube.
3. Adropofgeneralpurposeoilwill
maketighteningeasier.
4. Ifusingadropofoilorthreadsealant
besurethethreadsarecleanofany
debrisandthatsealantisalsofreeof
anymetaldebris.DONOTUSEaputty,
gasketmaterialorthreadsealtape.
5. Ifusingathreadsealant,applyathin
evencoattothemalecompression
threadsonlytakingcarenottoget
threadsealantonthecompression
ringorsealingsurface.
Warning:Excessivethreadsealant
maycausejointtofail.
6. Handtightenthecompressionnutontothestopasfarasitwillallow.
7. Usinghandtools,tighten1to1-1/4turnsfromthehandtightposition.Note:Make
surethattheriserremainsseatedandsquaretothestop.Iftheriserisnotsquare
tothestop,thiscouldaffecttheabilitytogetagoodconnection.
8. Forinlettubeinstallation,seethatsection.
