performance, increasedfuel consumption, andincreased
emissions. Seea qualified Searsdealerfor high altitude
adjustment information. Operation ofthe engineat altitudes
below 2,500 feet (762 meters) with the high altitude kit is not
recommended.

EHGINETECHNICALINFORMATIOH PRODUCTSPECIFICATIOHS
This is a single cylinder, L-head,air cooled engine. It is a low
emissions engine.
Inthe Stateof California, Model90000 enginesare certified
by the California Air Resources Boardto meet emissions
standardsfor 125 hours. Such certification does not grant
the purchaser, owner or operator of this engine any
additional warranties with respectto the performance or
operational life of this engine.Theengine is warranted solely
according to the product and emissions warranties stated
elsewherein this manual.
Power Ratings
Thegross power rating for individual gas engine models is
labeledin accordancewith SAE(Societyof Automotive
Engineers)codeJ1940 (Small EnginePower &Torque
Rating Procedure),and rating performance hasbeen
obtained andcorrected in accordancewith SAEJ1995
(Revision2002-05). Torquevalues are derived at3060 RPM;
horsepower values are derivedat 3600 RPM.Actual gross
engine power will be lower and is affected by, among other
things, ambient operating conditions and engine-to-engine
variability. Givenboth the wide array of products on which
enginesare placedand the variety of environmental issues
applicableto operatingthe equipment, the gas engine will not
developthe ratedgross power when used in a given pieceof
power equipment (actual "on-site"or net power). This
difference is due to a variety of factors including, but not
limited to, accessories (air cleaner, exhaust, charging,
cooling, carburetor, fuel pump, etc.), application limitations,
ambient operating conditions (temperature,humidity,
altitude), and engine-to-engine variability. Dueto
manufacturing and capacity limitations, Briggs & Stratton
maysubstitute an engine of higher ratedpower for this
Seriesengine.

Air Cooling System
Overtime debris may accumulate in cylinder cooling fins and
cannot be observed without partial engine disassembly. For

To protectthe unitfrom freezingtemperatures:
1. Follow steps 1-3 in the previous sectionAfter EachUse.
2. Use pump saver to treat pump. This minimizes freeze

4. Store unit in a clean, dry area.
LOHGTERM STORAGE
If you do not plan to usethe pressure washer for morethan
30 days, you must preparethe engineandpump for long
term storage.
It is importantto preventgum deposits from forming in
essentialfuel system parts such asthe carburetor, fuel filter,
fuel hose or tank during storage. Also, experienceindicates
that alcohol-blendedfuels (called gasohol, ethanol or
methanol) canattract moisture, which leadsto separation
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic gas can
damagethe fuel system of anengine while in storage.
Protect FueJSystem
FuelAdditive:
Fuelcan becomestale when stored over 30 days.Stalefuel
causesacid and gum depositsto form in the fuel system or
on essentialcarburetor parts. To keepfuel fresh, use Briggs
& Stratton FRESHSTARTTM fuel stabilizer, availableas a
liquid additive or a drip concentrate cartridge.
Thereis no needto drain gasolinefrom the engine if a fuel
stabilizer is added according to instructions. Runthe engine
for 2 minutes to circulate the stabilizer throughout the fuel
system. The engineand fuel canthen be stored up to
24 months.
If gasoline in the engine hasnot beentreated with a fuel
stabilizer, it must be drained into anapprovedcontainer. Run
the engine until it stops from lackof fuel. The useof a fuel
stabilizer in the storage container is recommendedto
maintain freshness.
While engine isstill warm, drain oil from crankcase. Refill
with recommendedgrade. See ChangingEngine Oil.
