Theterm‘wirelessphone’refershere

phonescanexposetheusertomeasurable
radiofrequencyenergy(RF)becauseof
theshortdistancebetweenthephoneand
theuser’shead.TheseRFexposuresare
limitedbyFCCsafetyguidelinesthatwere

Whenthephoneislocatedatgreater
distancesfromtheuser,theexposureto
RFisdrasticallylowerbecauseaperson’s
RFexposuredecreasesrapidly
withincreasingdistancefromthesource.
Theso-called‘cordlessphones,’which
haveabaseunitconnectedtothe
telephonewiringinahouse,typically
operateatfarlowerpowerlevels,andthus
produceRFexposuresfarbelowtheFCC
safetylimits.
4. What are the results of the research
done already?
Theresearchdonethusfarhasproduced
conflictingresults,andmanystudies
havesufferedfromflawsintheir
researchmethods.Animalexperiments
investigatingtheeffectsofradiofrequency
energy(RF)exposurescharacteristicof
wirelessphoneshaveyieldedconflicting
resultsthatoftencannotberepeatedin
