INTRODUCTION

This great new idea in scales combines a removable cutting board with a

precision digital kitchen scale. Put the board in place on the scale, and the

scale self-adjusts to 0 anytime you press the “tare” button. Then place your

food on the board, cut and control your portion.

Cut and slice your favorite meats, cheeses, and vegetables to the

precise desired weight for calculation of desired portion size,

calories, carbs, etc. The scale will measure up to 3 KG or 6 lbs.

in increments as small as 1 gram.

You can cut on the board while it’s on the scale, or remove the board for

cutting or cleaning. Also features a handy digital timer.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Follow the basic safety precautions for any home appliance when using this

scale.

The base is not waterproof. Do not expose to rain or moisture.

Do not disassemble the scale base. The scale base does not contain any

parts that can be repaired by the user.

Read all instructions before using the scale.

Use the scale for only its intended purpose.

The scale is for household use only.

BUTTONS

ON/TARE: Turns on scale. Sets scale to zero.

OFF: Turns off the scale.

TIMER: Switches scale to timer mode.

ADVANCE: Increases time of timer.

START LB/KG: Starts timer. Changes display from kilograms and grams

(kg/g) to pounds and ounces (lb/oz) and vice versa.

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

The scale uses a 9 volt battery which is included with unit.

Change the batteries when the battery low symbol ( )shows on the LCD.

The Battery compartment is in the bottom of the unit. To replace the battery

just remove cover and replace with new one noting +/-.

USING THE SCALE

Place scale on a flat, level, solid supporting surface.

Align the holes in the bottom of the cutting board with the studs of the scale

base and set the cutting board onto the base. NOTE: The cutting board only

goes onto the base one way.

Press ON/TARE and watch for “0” to appear on LCD.

You can weigh and cut food on the cutting board while it is on the scale.

Note: Do not CHOP or POUND on the cutting board while it is on the base.

Doing so may permanently damage the scale’s load cell.

You can add items to those already weighed without removing them by

pressing the ON/TARE button.

The scale can be used without the cutting board to weigh items in a bowl.

Place bowl between the studs. Press ON/TARE to zero the bowl weight and

add food into bowl.

The scale will automatically shut off if nothing is weighed after 5 minutes.

TIMER

Press the ON/TARE button and wait for “0” appear on the LCD.

Press TIMER button and a time symbol and four digits will appear on

the LCD, the first of the digits will flash on and off. The first two digits

represent the minutes and the other two the seconds.

Press ADVANCE button to change the first digit. Press TIMER when

you want to go on to the second digit, which will begin to flash, or press

START for the selected time to start counting.

Carry out the same operation for the last two digits. ADVANCE to

change and TIMER to go to the next digit. Press START for the selected

time to start counting.

When the programmed time runs out the unit will beep. Press OFF to turn

off the beeping alarm.

HELPFUL HINTS

Avoid exceeding the maximum capacity of the scale. If the maximum

capacity of the scale is exceeded the digits of the item weighed will go

off and you will hear a beep.

The batteries must always be disposed of in a safe way.

The scales are not legal for commercial or medical purpose.

Do not immerse scale base in water.

Clean with a slightly damp cloth.

Do not use chemical or abrasive products, such as metallic scourers, which

may deteriorate the surfaces.

The cutting board can be washed with warm soapy water and then dried

immediately. Do not put in dishwasher. Board will warp.

Maverick Industries Inc. warrants this product to be free of defects in parts,

materials and workmanship for a period of 1 year, from date of purchase.

Should any repairs or servicing under this warranty be required, contact

Maverick Customer Service by mail or phone for instructions on how to

pack and ship the product to Maverick's National Service Center located as

Do not send any parts or product to Maverick without calling and

obtaining a Return Authorization Number and instructions.

This warranty is VOID if instructions for use are not followed; for

accidental damage; for commercial use; for damage incurred while in

transit; or if the scale has been tampered with.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have

other rights which vary from state to state.
