This keyboard can be unversally used to control PTZ
cameras within a wide variety of security control room
environments. The keyboard has been equipped with a 2D
& 3D joystick, which can control the movement of the
camera and the zoom magnification lens. It also
incorporates an LCD screen with backlight enabling you to
read the screen details in a variety of locations with
varying light levels. The screen displays the current
operation order, the control protocol's name, the current
PTZ camera's ID, the current monitor's ID, and also what
the current state the joysticks are in. Controlling the your
CCTV with the joystick will make security processes quick
and efficient.

Connection
The keyboard can control the PELCO protocols
CM6700 & CM6800. For example the keyboard
connects with the PELCO CM6700 matrix in order to
introduce the connection between the keyboard and
the matrix.
There are two kinds of keyboard connection
interface on the CM6700 matrix back plate. One is
the local keyboard connection interface RJ45
("LOCAL KEYBOARD"), which can control the single
keyboard within the distance of 7.6m. The other is
the remote interface RS422 ("REMOTE
KEYBOARD(s)"), which can connect with the
keyboard's RS422 Iinterface. The maximum distance
is 1200m.

Connection
You can connect to the PTZ camera/dome via the RS485
interface on the keyboard if you want to control it directly.
The RS485 interface of the PTZ camera/dome is on the
switchboard of the pendant hanger found on the upper
cover of the PTZ camera/dome. You will also find the 4
Pin control/power socket and also the RS485 A+ & B-
when you turn the metal button inside the hanger and
opened the switchboard.
There are different ways to connect to the PTZ camera/
domes depending on the make of them. Please see the
PTZ camera/dome's user manual for more information.

This section of the manual explains how to operate the
actual keyboard. It needs to be noted that the
systematic platform of the keyboard compared to the
PTZ camera/dome may differ. Please refer to the PTZ
camera/dome's users guide to make sure that both
devices work together successfully.
The LCD display is used to list the keyboard's basic
operational information, which includes camera control,
monitor ID, baud rate, etc. In the last line it shows the
keyboard input commands and joystick operation. As the
image in Picture 3-1-1 shows, when you operate the
keyboard the LCD's backlight will turn on so you are able to
view the screen's information more clearly. The backlight
will switch off after 15 seconds of non use.
When power is provided to the keyboard, the keyboard
will auto-test the baud rate, protocol and the PTZ
cameras/domes (object monitor will be set as '1'). This
information will show on the LCD screen.

The Joystick has two functions, one is to manually
control the PTZ camera/dome's rotation, and the other
is to help control the set up of the object menu.
Rotate the joystick in any direction, the camera will
rotate in correspondence with the direction of the
joystick at the same time. The LCD will display the
information in the lower right corner as directional
arrows. They respectively show tilt up, tilt down, tilt right,
tilt left. If the joystick tilts to the upper right hand corner,
the image will display the relevant directional arrows.
When the joystick returns to the primary location, the
camera will stop rotating.
You can tilt the joystick up or down to scroll through
the system menu options. When you tilt it to the right
you will select that menu option or reserve the setting
after it has been set. Tilting it left will exit menu or stop
reserving the settings.
By moving the joystick more quickly the more the PTZ
camera/dome pan/tilts in parallel with the speed of
movement.
, the camera's lens will zoom in
to increase the image size by multiple amounts.
, the camera's lens will zoom
out to decrease the image size by multiple
amounts.
The standard setting for the camera is for it to be in
constant auto focus. The user must manually focus
and run other operations by the two keys, once this is
done the camera will automatically resume to auto
focus.

*Problemsinpracticaluse
If the user adopts astarconfiguration during
practical connection the termination resistors must be
connected tothe two bits of equipment that are
the farthest awayfrom each other, such as
equipment 1# and 15# (refertopicture4-1.3).
Otherwise you may experience signal
reflection and loss of signal transmission the
further away the equipment are. Thisconnection
way not be in accordance with the
requirements of RS485 standards in this
installation method. If you have the
equipment too far away you will not be
able to controlthedome or continuously operate
byitself.
ThefactorywillrecommendtheRS485distributor.The
distributorcantransferthestarconfiguration
connection tothe mode ofconnection accordance
withtheRS485standards.Thenewconnection
achieves reliable data transmission and avoids the
problem.(referto picture4-1.4)

*CharacteristicofRS485Busline
Accordingto RS485standards, RS485 Bus
consists of half-duplexeddata transmission
cableswith characteristic impedance of
120Ω.The maximum load capacity is32unit
loads (includingmain controller andcontroller
equipment)
*Transmission distanceofRS485 Busline
Whenuserselectsthe0.56mm (24AWG) twisted
pair as data transmission cable, the maximum
theoretical transmitting distances are shown
below according to different baud rate:
