battery. A lea d-acid battery canproduce a short-circuit
currenthighenoughtoweld a ring ortheliketometal,
causi ng a severeburn.
h) Usechargerforcharging a LEAD-ACID battery only.Itis
notintendedtosupplypower to a lowvoltageelectrical
systemotherthanin a starter-motor application.Donot
use ba ttery chargerforchargingdry-cellbatt eriesthat

iesmayburstandcauseinjurytopersonsanddamageto

c) Clean battery terminals.Becarefultokeepcor rosion
fromcomingincontactwitheyes.
d) Adddistilledwater
ineachce lluntil battery acidreaches
levelspeciedby battery manufacturer.Donotoverll.
For a battery withoutremovablecellcaps,suchasvalve
regulatedleadacidbatteries,carefully followmanufac-
turer’srecha rginginstruction.
e) Studyall battery manufacturer’sspecific precautions
whilechargingandrecommendedrate sofcharge.
f) Determinevoltageof battery byreferringtocarowner’s
manualandmakesureitmatchesoutputratingof battery 
charger.

battery aspossible – thenconnectNEG ATIVE(BLACK)
chargercliptof reeendofc able.
e) Donotface battery whenmakingthe finalconnection.
f) ConnectchargerACsu pplycordtoelectricoutlet.
g) When disconnecting charger,alwaysdo so inreverse
sequence ofconnect ingprocedureandbreak fir stcon-
nectionwhileasfarawayfrom battery aspractical.
h) A marine(boat) battery mustberemovedandcharged
onshore.Tochargeitonboardrequire sequipmentspe-
ciallydesignedformarineuse.

• Check thecharg ercablespriortouse.Ensurethatno
crackshaveoccurredinthecablesorinthebendprotec-
tion. A chargerwithdamage dcablesmust bereturnedto
theretailer.
• Ensurethatthecablingdoesnotjamorcome sinto contac t
withhotsurfacesorsharpedges.
• Nevercharge a damagedbattery.
• Neverplacethechargerontopofthe ba ttery when
charging.
• Avoidcoveringthecharger.
• Allbatteriesfailsoone rorlater. A battery thatfailsdur-
ingchargingisnormallytakencare of bythechargers
advancedcontrol,but some rareerrorsinthe battery could
stillexist.Don’tleaveany battery duringchargingunat-
tended for a longer periodoftime.
• Ifpowerconsumerslike fitted alarmsandnavigationcom-
puters areconnecte dtothebattery,thechargingprocess
takes longer an d maydrainthebattery.

long periods.IfthechargerhasnotswitchedtoSTEP 7 
within50hours,thisisanindicationofanerror.Disconnect
thecharger.
• Batteriesconsumewaterduringuseandch arging.Forbat-
terieswherewatercanbeadded,thewaterl e velshould
becheckedregularly.Ifthewaterlevelislowadddistilled
water.
• Thisap plianceisnotdesignedforusebyyoungchildrenor
peoplewhocannotreadorunderstandthemanualunless
theyareun derthesupervisionof a responsibleperson to
ensurethattheycanusethe battery chargersafely.Store
andusethe battery chargeroutofthereachofchildren,
andensurethatchildrencannotplaywiththecharger.
• Connectiontothemainssupplymustbeinaccordancewith
thenationalregulationsforelectricalinstallations.

2.Connectthechargertothewallsocket.Thepowerlampwillindicatethatthemainscableisc onnectedtothewallsocke t.The
errorl amp willindicateifthe battery clampsareincorrectlyconnected.Thereversepolarityprotectionwillensuretha tthebat-
tery orc harge rwillnotbedamaged.
3.Follow the6-stepdisplaythroughthechargingprocess.  
The battery isreadytostarttheenginewhenSTEP 3 islit.  
The battery isfullychargedwhenSTEP 5 isl it.
4.Stopchargingatanytimeby disconnecting themainscablefromthewall socket .

STEP 2 BULK
Chargingwithmaximumcurrentuntilapproximately 80% bat-
tery capacity.
STEP 3 ABSORPTION
Chargingwithdecliningcurrenttomaximizeupto100%b at-
tery capacity.
STEP 4 ANALYSE
Testsifthe battery c an holdcharge.Batteriesthatcannot
holdchargemayneedtobereplaced.
STEP 5 FLOAT
Maintainingthe battery voltageatmaximumlevelbyprovid-
ing a cons tantvoltagecharge.
STEP 6 PULSE
Maintainingthe battery at95–100%capacity.Thecharger
monitorsthe battery voltageandgives a pulsewhenneces-

cableisdamagedthechargermustbereturnedtotheretailer.
Thechargercasingcanbecleanedusing a dampclothand
mildcleaningagent.Remo vetheplu gfromthepow ersocket
beforecleaning.
