3M Adper™ Scotchbond™ Multi-Purpose Adhesive System Intro Kit, 7540S is a dental adhesive system designed for use in direct composite restorations. It is a two-step system that includes a primer and an adhesive. The primer is applied to the tooth surface to create a bond between the tooth and the adhesive. The adhesive is then applied to the primer and light-cured to create a strong bond between the tooth and the composite restoration.

Preparation:
• Isolate tooth with rubber dam. Remove caries/old restoration.
Complete preparation.
Apply liner/base if desired:
• Mix a level scoop of Vitrebond powder and
a drop of Vitrebond liquid on a mixing pad.
• Apply a thin layer of the liner/base to
dentin surfaces using a ball applicator.
• Light-cure for 30 seconds.
Etch:
• Apply Scotchbond
™
Etchant to enamel
and dentin—wait 15 seconds. Etchant on
Vitrebond until not deleterious.
• Rinse.
• Remove excess water with an air
syringe or by blotting. Leave moist.
Prime:
• Apply Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose
Primer to enamel and dentin.
• Dry gently for 5 seconds (no waiting).
Surface will appear shiny.
Bond:
• Apply Scotchbond Multi-Purpose
adhesive to enamel and dentin.
• Light-cure for 10 seconds.

Place and light-cure 3M

Restorative incrementally:
• Place matrix band, wedge and small
first increment.
• Continue incremental placement.
• For optimum wear resistance, cure final
increment for 60 seconds.
• After removal of matrix band, proximal
curing is recommended.
Finish and Polish:
• Finish occlusal surface using a Sof-Lex
Finishing Brush.
• Finish proximal surfaces with Sof-Lex
Extra Thin Discs and Strips.
