FMI BLX42STL is a Ledgestone Liner Kit designed for use with BLX32STL, BLX36STL, and BLX42STL fireplace models. This kit includes 8 panels (left, right, and rear) made of a brick-like material that can be installed to give your fireplace a more traditional look. WARNING: If replace has been running,
turn off and unplug replace. Let cool before
removing glass door or louvers.
Removing Louver Panels
Remove top and bottom louver panels by simultaneously
pulling both top end spring latches towards center of ap-
pliance until they are disengaged from locating holes (see
Figure 2). Repeat for bottom spring latches and pull louvers
outward. To install or replace items removed, simply reverse
procedures above.
Removing and Replacing Screen Door Assembly (If
Installed)
To remove screen push screen door assembly in toward the
bottom left and right sides until the magnetic door latch pops the
screen door out. Hold the screen door assembly at the bottom and
swing the door up to disengage the tabs on the top of the door
from inside the slots underneath the upper face (see Figure 3).

To Replace Screen
Push magnetic door latch out to the open position. Position
screen door tabs with slot openings in upper face frame.
Swing door screen assembly in towards the bottom face,
Press in on the bottom of door screen until magnetic door
latch is pushed in.
Removing Glass Door
1. Remove screen assembly (if installed) by pushing the
rod either left or right, then down and forward to remove
screen/rod assembly from rebox. Set assembly aside.
2. Lift up on latches to unlock. There are two on top of rebox
and two below rebox that hold glass door in place (see
Figure 4).
3. While holding glass door to prevent it from falling and
causing injury, remove 5 screws from hinge located on
left side of door frame assembly (see Figure 4).
INSTALLING LEDGESTONE PANELS
CAUTION: Always handle brick panels
with two hands. Do not force brick panels into
place. Excessive force will break brick panels.
1. Remove top and bottom louvers to allow access to door
latches or screen panel.
2. Unlock door latches and open glass door. See Removing
Glass Door, steps 1 and 2.
3. Carefully remove lava rock and ember material. Remove
log/grate assembly. Refer to owner's manual for more
information as steps may vary by model.

4. Remove screws that attach plenum to burner to remove
plenum.
5. Remove three screws from deector shield on the inside
top of rebox. Set shield and screws aside.
6. If refractory bricks are installed, remove side panels rst
by lifting up and gently slide panel out of replace. Panels
are supported by one another and removing panels may
cause others to shift or move, next remove right panel in
the same method as left. Remove rear panel last.
7. Install rear ledgestone panel rst. Rest bottom edge of
panel on back edge of rear rebox (see Figure 5).
8. Install left side brick panel by sliding it between burner
assembly and side of rebox (see Figure 5).
9. Install right side ledgestone panel using same method
described in step 7 for left side panel.
10. Replace deector shield using screws removed in step 5.
11. Using screws removed in step 4, replace plenum and
attach to burner.
12. Using screws removed in step 3, replace log/grate as-
sembly. Be careful when replacing log/grate assembly
not to chip logs on burner.
13. Install lava rock and glowing embers. See manual for
more instructions.
14. Close glass door and lock latches on top and bottom of
door and replace screen. See Removing Glass Door,
steps 1 thru 3.
15. Close top and bottom louvers or replace mesh panel
depending on model.
