4 Intended Use

The over voltage protection device is exclusively intended for Dometic air

conditioners. The over voltage protection device is designed for the protection

of Dometic air conditioners during generator operation.

4.1 Function

When the input voltage level is >260V, the over voltage protection

disconnects the power supply and in this way protects the connected

air conditioner. The over voltage protection automatically switches on the

power supply again when the voltage is <260V (after 45s of safety time).

The disconnection is signalled by a red LED that is switched off after

approx. 30 minutes the over voltage event is gone

.

5 Installation

The over voltage protection device is exclusively intended for Dometic air

conditioners. The over voltage protection device is designed for the protection

of Dometic air conditioners during generator operation. The over voltage

device has to be installed on the air conditioner power supply line.

5.1 Installation location

The over voltage protection device has to be installed on the air conditioner

supply line and located inside the distribution box (where the protection

breakers are located). It is also possible and suggested to install the over

voltage protection device on the air conditioner base pan as showed on

Fig. 2 , page 3, in this way the red LED will be externally visible by the user

in case of over voltage event. It is possible to fix the over voltage protection

device using the supplied dual lock strip (Fig 1 3, page 3).

5.2 Connection

Disconnect the power supply before installing the over voltage

protection

The installation of the over voltage protection device must be

made by qualified personnel only

Respect Input and output connecting the device as described

on Fig. 3 page 3

In case of installation on the air conditioner base pan it is necessary to

remove the air diffuser box as described into the air conditioner manual

Disconnect the air conditioner power supply cable from leaving the

terminals on the cable coming from the mains (Fig. 2 , page 3)

Connect the input cables of the over voltage protection to the cables

coming from the mains (Fig. 2 , page 3).

Be careful to identify the input side of the over voltage device (Fig. 3 ,

page 3).

Connect the over voltage protection device output cables to the

air conditioner power supply cables using the supplied terminals

(Fig. 2 , page 3)

In case of installation on the air conditioner base pan it is necessary to

install the air diffuser box as described into the air conditioner user

manual.
