Release 3.6 as part of the TransForm A – Suite for Windows 2000/XP is
the official release of the Windows Driver Suite to be used together with
Apollo 1.7. This release is mainly about system monitoring and improved
RGB auto-detection.
Release note
Windows Driver Suite – Release 3.6
System monitoring
Release 3.6 of the Windows Driver Suite provides the basic driver level support for monitoring
T
RANSFORM A components. As a first step every TRANSFORM A system for Windows 2000/XP
comes with the Barco Device Explorer (DEX), which is a handy tool to complement the
Windows Device Manager. The Barco Device Explorer presents a more detailed view on the
controller system, naturally with main emphasis on the Barco components.
With Device Explorer the actual state of the fans, temperature and the power supplies of the
T
RANSFORM A devices can be examined. It also gives extensive information about every
installed Barco extension card, including firmware, controlware and further configuration
settings.
Future higher level monitoring and management systems will be based on the driver level
support for system monitoring now introduced with Windows Driver Suite Release 3.6.
Improved RGB auto-detection
The auto-detection of the DRGB Input Card underwent a noticeable improvement. The auto-
detection mechanism built into driver 3.6 now is able to handle much more situations without
the need of manual intervention.
This level of auto-detection however requires controlware version CTW-3010-xx (with xx=02
or higher) of the DRGB Input Card. Use the Device Explorer to determine the currently
installed controlware version.
In case upgrading the controlware version is necessary, please contact customer support.

Analog Video Noise filter
The Q
UAD ANALOG VIDEO CARD provides a signal noise reduction filter, which is adjustable
between 0 (=off) and 16 (=highest reduction). Up to now this filter was set to off-state by
default.
Starting with release 3.6 of the driver, the default level of noise reduction will be set to 12.
This value has turned out to be a good compromise between visible noise and loss of details.
For videos shown with video.exe the noise reduction level can already be controlled by the
use of a slider. For the A
POLLO FRG viewer a control to adjust noise reduction level will
become available in Release 1.8.
Full stream specification on command line
The command line user interface has been improved to specify all parameters of video
streams. Now external applications are capable to manage all available streams completely
and are no longer restricted to calling streams defined inside video.exe by name.
Windows Driver Suite Release 3.6 is part of Edition 5.1 of the TransForm A – Suite for
Windows 2000/XP and comes pre-installed on every new delivered system from now on.
For further information, please have a look at the updated compatibility matrices on the
PartnerZone and in the user manual!
