STARTING THE ENGINE

While Carrying the Advanced Key…

 • Start the enginebypushingthestartknobinandturningit(likea

normalkey)whilepushingtheclutchpedal(manualtransmission)orthe

brakepedal(automatictransmission).

 • Shut the engine OFFbyturningthestartknobtotheACCposition

andthenpushinginandturningtotheLockposition.

NOTE:

TheKEY indicatorlightwillilluminateGREENwhenthe

advancedkeyisdetected.IftheKEYindicatorlightashesGREEN,

theadvancedkeytransmitterbatterypowerislow.

 • Iftheadvancedkeycannotbeusedduetoamalfunctionordead

advancedkeybattery,usetheauxiliarykeytolock/unlockthedoors

andtostarttheengine.

FUEL REQUIREMENTS

91-octanefuelisrecommended.If91-octanefuelisnotavailable,fuelas

lowas87-octanecanbeusedtemporarilyforemergencypurposes.Use

offuellowerthan91-octanecandecreaseperformance,causeknocking/

enginenoise,deteriorateshiftquality,andpossiblyincreasefuelconsumption.

Refuelingthevehiclewithcorrectoctanefuelacoupleoftimeswillrestore

vehicleperformanceandshiftquality.
