Camera Power
A full charge of the camera using a standard 5v 1A
USB-C charger is recommended before first use.
Keep the camera powered off. You can also do a
full charge using the solar panel.
Storage Installation
With the NVR powered off, install a blank 2.5” HDD
or SSD into the bottom SATA drive bay. A 2TB SSD
or above is recommended. Line up the SATA
connectors on both sides and slowly slide the drive
in. Make sure it is firmly seated. Put the cover on.
Power on the NVR and create a login. Write down
your login.
Go into the System Settings → Storage menu and
format the drive.
Adding a camera to the NV R
In the NVR, go to “System Settings” → “Camera
Setup”
Bring the camera over to the NVR.
Push and briefly hold the power button on the
bottom of the camera. There will be a chime when
the camera is powered on. If no chime, make sure
the camera is off, and then power on again.
After a few seconds, the camera should
automatically show up in the listing. Review the
listing to see if the camera was added.
After you have added the camera, you can mount
the camera and connect power. Connect solar to
the camera through the weatherproof port cover on
the camera. Make sure the USB cable and the port
cover are firmly seated. The solar panel should be
angled perpendicular to the sun, as much as
possible.
Check that the camera is connected in the NVR
camera menu.
We can now adjust recording settings. Highlight the
camera in the camera menu.
“Best recording” is motion event recording without
time limit.
“Intelligent detection settings” is motion settings.
“Sound alarm” will use the camera speakers as an
alarm during an event.
“Spotlight alarm” will trigger the camera spotlight
during an event.
“Push notification” is for app notifications.
“Alarm period” is the recording schedule.
Click on “Best recording”
“Best recording” will detect a motion event and
continue to record the clip until the motion has
stopped. There is no time limit on the clip length.
“Best power saving” will limit clip length, along with
an optional sleep period after each recording. If the
camera is not able to get full sun or there are a lot
of events, you may choose this option to save
battery.
“Recording only humanoid images” is the toggle for
PIR. If on, recording will be triggered by PIR
detection, not motion. If off, recording will be
triggered by motion (or also triggered by PIR.)
If settings were changed, click “Save Changes” and
return to the camera menu.
Click on “Intelligent detection settings”
Motion detection is active on the entire image by
default. If you want to exclude areas, choose
“Custom detection area” and highlight active areas.
Motion sensitivity can be adjusted up or down.
Click “Save Changes” and return to the camera
menu.
Night Spotlight and IR
Select a channel in live view.
In the live view with a live video stream playing,
click on the image setting icon in the bottom left.
You can choose to use the spotlight at night (“Full
color”) or use the IR only (“Infrared night vision”).
Scheduling
Click on “Alarm period setting”
By default, the schedule is 24/7 for motion and PIR
detection.
Network Setup
(Optional) Connect a network cable to the back of
the NVR. The network setting is DHCP by default,
and should connect to the router automatically.
If you need to set a static address, go to the
Network menu and click on “DHCP” and set a static
address.
(Optional) For using a Wi-Fi connection, go to the
Network menu wireless tab, click “Open” → “Select
Wi-Fi network”, select an access point, and enter
the wifi password.
Network Status
You can check the Diagnostics menu for NVR
network and cloud status.
Playback
Go into the “Playback” menu.
Select a single channel. (If you see the message
“There are no video recordings in this time” just
click “OK” to continue.)
Select a calendar date.
Here, we selected camera 2 and SEPT 19
Video for the channel on that day will show on the
timeline.
Place the cursor on a video segment, and it will
automatically start playing.
To backup this video, click on “Export Video”
Backup video to USB
During playback, click on “Export Video”
Have ready a USB storage device that is empty and
formatted to FAT32 or ExFAT. A brand new flash
drive will likely be compatible. The drive does not
need to be connected yet.
First click on “Export”
A message about “USB Storage Is Not Found” will
appear.
Swap out the mouse for the USB drive.
Backup should continue by itself when the USB
drive is detected.
Wait until the backup has fully completed.
After the USB drive is done writing, you can swap
the mouse back in.
Troubleshooting
If a camera can no longer connect, it may not have
power. Check that the solar panel cable is firmly
seated. Fully charge the camera using a USB
charger and power it on again. Check for camera
connection in “Camera Diagnostics”
Power on the camera near the NVR.
If the camera connection is inconsistent, make sure
the antennas are aligned. Minimize obstacles
between the NVR and camera. Minimize the
distance between the NVR and cameras.
You try to use another wireless channel under
“Network” → “Camera Wireless Network”
