Ports
The auto-negotiation feature of the Fast Ethernet Ofce Switch allows
ports to operate in the following modes. NOTE: With the Gigabit ports,
when both the ber and copper interfaces are connected, the system
adopts the ber interface and disables the corresponding copper port
automatically.
Power
To turn the switch on, connect the female end of the included power cord
to the receptacle on the rear panel and then plug the cord into an AC
outlet. Check that the Power LED is lit on the front panel.
installatiOn
The Fast Ethernet Ofce Switch can be placed on a desktop (or other
appropriate at surface) or mounted in a rack. Prior to installation,
check that:
the device will have adequate ventilation. A minimum clearance of 25 mm
(1 inch) on all sides is recommended.
the location is fairly cool and dry. (See Specications for the acceptable
temperature and humidity operating ranges.)
the location is free from electrical noise from radios, transmitters,
broadband ampliers and such.
