OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Automatic Gain Control Switch.
Ensure switch is on
position P to suppress any high gain transmit and receive
or echo which can be experienced with some PABX or
exchanges.
2. Use the On-hook
Dialling.
Press ON HOOK DIAL button
to initiate on-hook dialling (In-use indicator will light up).
You will hear dial tone on the speaker monitor and can
dial out without lifting the handset. Adjust the monitor
volume control for optimal loudness. When the call is
connected, simply pick up the handset and talk to the
other party. Otherwise, press ON HOOK DIAL button to
end on-hook dialling (In-use indicator will turn off).
After the phone is first installed
and
connected to a phone
line, lift the handset once to initialize the ON HOOK DIAL button
3. Making a Call. Lift handset (or press ON HOOK DIAL
button for on hook dialling), listen for dial tone, then dial
your call in any one of four ways:
press the numbers you wish to call directly, or
press REDIAL for a previously
dialled
number, or
press one of the ten memory buttons directly, i.e. the
one-touch memory which stores the number you wish to
dial, or
press
SHIFT followed by any one of the ten memory
buttons, i.e. the two-touch memory which store the
number you wish to dial
When
your call
is finished, hang up by placing the handset
back in the cradle or press ON HOOK DIAL button to
turn off on hook dialling mode.
4. Receiving a Call. When the phone rings, simply lift
handset and answer the call. Be sure ringer switch is set
to HI or LO if you wish to hear incoming calls ringing.
5. Redialling the Last Number. If the number you try to
reach is busy, hang up or press the hook switch for at
least 2 seconds. To call the busy number automatically
again, pick up handset and press REDIAL.
6. Set
Ringer Volume.
Set ringer switch to OFF if you don’t
want to be disturbed by phone ringing. Set ringer switch
to HI or LO (as desired) if you wish to hear incoming calls
ringing.
7. Using Recall Button. Recall button is used to transfer
calls on a PABX and access special PABX functions.
Please refer to your PABX extension
manual. This
button
can also access Enhanced Network Facilities. Set at
100-
msec.
8. Store a Number in Memory.
Up to 20 phone numbers
(each up to 16 digits including pause) can be stored in
memory.These memories are separated into two groups
of ten, called the one-touch memory group and the
two-
touch memory group. Each of ten-touch memories is
accessed by pressing each of the ten memory buttons
directly. Each of the ten two-touch memories is accessed
by pressing SHIFT first and then followed by each of the
ten memory buttons.
