INTENDED USE. This dust collector is only
intendedforcollectingwooddustandchipsfrom
woodworking machines. DO NOT use this dust
collector to collect metal, dirt, pebbles, drywall,
asbestos, lead paint, silica, liquids, aerosols, or
anyflammable,combustible,orhazardousmateri-
als.
hazarDoUS DUST. Dust created while using
machinery may cause cancer, birth defects, or
long-termrespiratory damage. Be aware of dust
hazardsassociatedwitheachworkpiecematerial,
andalwayswearaNIOSH-approvedrespiratorto
reduceyourrisk.
DUST aLLErGIES. Dust from certain woods
maycauseanallergicreactioninpeopleandani-
mals.Makesureyouknowwhattypeofwooddust
youwillbeexposedtoincasethereisapossibility
ofanallergicreaction.
WEar rESPIraTor. Fine dust that is too
smallto becaught inthe filter willbe blowninto
the ambientair during operation. Always wear a
NIOSHapprovedrespiratorduringoperationand
forashorttimeaftertoreduceyourriskofperma-
nentrespiratorydamage.
EMPTYING DUST.Whenemptyingdustfromthe
collectioncontainer,weararespiratorandsafety
glasses. Empty dust away from ignition sources
andintoanapprovedcontainer.
DISCoNNECTING PoWEr SUPPLY. Turn the
switch OFF, disconnect the du
st collector from
thepowersupply,andallowtheimpellertocome
to a complete stop before leaving the machine
unattendedordoinganyservice,cleaning,main-
tenance,oradjustments.
rEGULar CLEaNING. Regularly check/empty
the collection bags or drum to avoidthe buildup
offinedustthatcanincreasetheriskoffire.Make
suretoregularlycleanthesurroundingareawhere
themachineisoperated—excessivedustbuildup
on overhead lights, heaters, electricalpanels, or
otherheatsourceswillincreasetheriskoffire.
SUSPENDED DUST ParTICLES aND IGNITIoN
SoUrCES.DONOToperatethedustcollectorin
areaswereexplosionrisksarehigh.Areasofhigh
riskinclude,butarenotlimitedto,areasnearpilot
lights,openflames,orotherignitionsources.
FIrE SUPPrESSIoN.Onlyoperatethedustcol-
lectorinlocationsthatcontainafiresuppression
systemorhaveafireextinguishernearby.
IMPELLEr hazarDS. DO NOT place your
handsortoolsneartheopeninletduringoperation
foranyreason.Thepowerfulsuctioncouldeasily
causeaccidentalcontactwiththeimpellerwhich
will cause serious personal injury or damage to
themachine.Alwayskeepsmallanimalsandchil-
drenawayfromopendustcollectioninlets.
aVoIDING SParKS. DO NOT allow steel or
rocks to strike the impeller—this may produce
sparks. Sparks can smolder in wood dust for a
longtimebeforeafireisdetected.Ifyouacciden-
tallycutintowoodcontainingtrampmetal(nails,
staples, spikes, etc.), immediately turn OFF the
dustcollector,disconnectitfrompower,andwait
for the impeller to stop—then empty the collec-
tion container into an approved airtight metal
container.
oPEraTING LoCaTIoN. To reduce respira-
tory exposure to fine dust, l
ocate permanently
installed dust collectors away from the working
area,or inanotherroomthatisequippedwith a
smokedetector.DONOToperatethedustcollec-
tor in rainy or wet locations—exposure to water
maycreateanshockhazardordecreasethelife
ofthemachine.
STaTIC ELECTrICIT Y.Plasticdustlinesgener-
atehighamountsofstaticelectricityasdustchips
passthroughthem.Althoughrare,sparkscaused
by staticelectricity can cause explosionsor fire.
To reduce this risk,make sure all dust lines are
thoroughlygroundedbyusingagroundingwire.
